Come on, where have you put your sense of humor? It didn't upset me in the least, it's your profile and of course you can say anything you want. There is no "issue" here whatsoever.

Nothing wrong with it at all, just wondering why cars are often the medium. Do your Whirpool, Kitchenaid, GE or Speed Queen appliances have massive American flag decals on them? How about your Apple, Dell, Microsoft, Google and IBM computers? I don't understand what patriotism has to do with feeling the need to plaster the flag all over something just because it was made in the US. It's not like sports cars are uniquely an American concept. There are plenty of powerful and great handling sports cars out there from other countries too. Plastering the American flag all over everything reminds me of potheads who constantly talk about it and wear clothes with pot leaves all over them, or teenagers who just got laid for the first time and constantly talk about sex...we get it, you like those things. We enjoy them too, but needing to shoehorn those subjects into every aspect of your life is obsessively weird.

This was a very reasonable comment. I think vehicles, not just sports cars, have always been special in that they represent individual freedom. That's why much fewer people put decals on, say, their refrigerators, although there are some that do. Also, while of course other countries also have outstanding products, the level of freedom in the US, while on the decline in general, is still clearly exceptional.

Not sure why you say "all over everything", though, when two sentences earlier you wonder how come only cars are the medium (let's generously add trucks to that). BTW throwing out insults by calling this "flag worshiping", "indoctrination" and a "serious issue" is not helping the discussion.

Wow, that's a serious amount over overanalyzing. Equating a car, especially a sports car, with a home appliance is willfull stupidity. There's OBVIOUSLY massive differences that I don't need to go into that you conveniently disregard in order to make one poorly thought-out point. But that disregard makes your entire argument seem very silly and well... kinda stupid.

Next, the thought that sports cars aren't American is likewise poorly thought out. Sports cars are often used for hmm, what? RACING? OK, and that often includes competition between companies from different nations. I could go on but maybe you get the point.

What if the car is the ONE thing OP has with a flag on it? Maybe he doesn't "plaster" the flag over everything? But no, you gotta make a really stupid point so there it is again. Another poorly thought out strawman argument that makes no sense and is all in your own imagination.

Look, in order to impose your will on other people's tastes you've wrote-up a pile of stinking garbage that doesn't make ANY SENSE AT ALL. Normally I wouldn't take the time to write stuff like this but your disregard and disrespect for other people and their tastes is nauseating. There's probably a lot of stuff about you that others might disrespect and make fun of, but most other people have enough repsect for others NOT to do stuff like that.

Didn't your parents ever teach you "If you don't have something nice to say.... "? JFC dude. Get a life.

I compared it to the previous ones, and this one did have a cohesive line of thought without insults...

No, it was all insults. The line of thought was made-up imaginary garbage... Insults don't have to be brazen and out in the open to count imo.

People think if they hide insults using snark and BS like this it doesn't count. It does.

A good test is, would you say that to someone you just met at a bar? No? Then maybe reconsider posting it.

Oh, I understand, Dave, but what can one do when people talk like that about an entire swath of the population and especially in the context of a value we honor and respect? Choices are to stoop to personal insults, ignore them completely or try and engage them and see where they're coming from, however alien their argument and far-fetched the comparisons they make are... I'm trying this last one...

Not bad! I like it a heck of a lot better than the hellcat-inspired coyotes I see splayed 70% of the way down the 5.0's around here
