so damn happy with my 2017 2ss. holds the road like no other car..roads i have known for years that are tough on all cars it glides over. my s550 used to throw me all over the place and even cause me to hit my head on the roof.utter pos car to drive.
130 mph can hold the steering wheel with one finger and even drink coffee in the camaro.
above 90 mph my s550 would wander all over the road. the hood would try and fly off. the driveline vibrations would loosen my teeth..how can ford get away building that junk i ask?
after 40 years and around 4 million miles of driving i'll put the s550 mustang as the second worst car i have ever owned..first being the s197 mustangs..
anyone that buys a mustang needs their head looking at..go test drive a camaro and you'll realise just how aweful those mustangs are

Come a time soon if you want new American 2 dr muscle your gonna have to choose a mustang or a challenger. I’ll take the mustang in that fight....

Name recognition, marketing, and selling a ton to rental fleets, etc, definitely helps a lot. Not that the Mustang is a bad car, they are well done and I will probably end up buying my wife one (what she wants.. comes from a diehard Ford family, haha, unfortunately LOL.

I like Mustangs, my parents are mustang people, my dad has had 3 while I was alive, my mom has owned 4 or 5. I have frineds with Mustangs, they are good machines. I'm just a Camaro guy and I prefer the look of the camaro.

I actually feel a little sorry for you about your Mustang experience . . . you really must have gotten a lemon.

Have you ever had a chance to drive a Mondeo? There's a reason for me asking that question.

I’ve had 2 Mustang GTs. I like my Camaro SS more but both of those GTs drove great even at triple digits. Your experiences aren’t the norm or nobody would buy them.

that works out to 240 miles every day no days off for 40 years. curious what your line of work is to be driving cars that many miles every day.
long haul truck drivers are pulling that but don't see many in cars doing it.

traveled lots when i lived in london..used to work 7days a week. travel a lot here aswell.
200 miles daily..done a lot of driving in my life..been trough many cars and vans.lost count on how many.
most reliable was an izuzu diesel van..that bad boy did 700 000 miles before it died.
plus maybe 300k miles on motorbikes.. most of my life it seems i spend driving.
probably closer to 3 milion miles.my bluetooth keyboard is -ucked.but 40 years almost non stop driving weekends aswell adds up to a lot of experience..i certainly have an idea if a car or van is any good after driving that long

I am interested in the S650 can do. We will see how good they do on the chassis but the S550s are just not that good when it comes to the track ready editions not to mention the cost and markup (as Motor Trend points out).

On the base model w/auto argument I've had both Camaro and Mustang 4 cylinder rental cars and the Mustang was superior in that instance IMO. So I see why it outsells.

Also to say the Camaro is a sales flop is a bit overdramatic. Compared to the Mustang and Challenger in its rival space it definitely needs to up the game but there are a multitude of cars that are made despite low volume.

Do they count the Mustang/GT350/GT500/Mach/etc/etc all under Mustang, whereas the Camaro/Vette are counted completely separate (as one would expect). Kind of skews the numbers a bit as well. With Ford, you want a performance car.. you get the Mustang.. or.. the.. Mustang. With Chevy, you can grab the Camaro, the Corvette, and shoot.. even jump over to the CTS or some such? Lol.

Interesting article from Motortrend comparing the new Mustang Mach 1 vs the Mustang GT350, GT350R, and GT500.. and at the end, they toss in a comparison between the Mach 1 (with handling package and its almost $65k price tag) versus a 2018 Camaro SS 1LE, which beats the Mustang Mach 1 in every category and costs about $14k less, lol
Mach 1 seems like a really interesting car, if it was 10K less. I just don't understand the value proposition for a car that costs 60K and clearly doesn't perform as well as GT350 did at that same price point.

This car is what the PP2 Mustang GT should have been, at $50K.

You all forget a few things;

1. They sell a ton of Mustangs
2. They will sell everyone of these at over inflated pricing, because it will also help sell the lower models for them.
3. They know they will sell them all at 60K+, they were even brash enough to not put leather in it at that price point <--- insane.
