I just acquired and installed 1LE wheels with stock GY tires on them, but I still have my stock wheels, so if push comes to shove, I can alternate sets and focus a 1LE / Nitto set for dragstrip days.
Your car looks great! Those wheels are fantastic for the 50, can’t wait to get mine.

I don’t know if you can get any better launch out of the Nitto then the PS4 or Conti. I would guess the same but you’d save some $ on the Nittos. Contis should ride and corner better.

Hi guys, today - well yesterday what I did with my 18' 2SS was sell it.

I like the car and had -0- issues with it other than the missing spoiler stripe debacle - which resolved. I had the diff fluid changed out early on and other than that oil changes and engine and cabin air filters.

I actually sold it to CarMax for 37,400. it had 34,400 miles on it (give or take a couple). I bought it new inbound from the factory almost three years to the day for 40,200 plus tax and license.

Why did I sell?

Well 2,800 to drive a high performance car for 3 years is pretty darn sweet. Even with tax and initial license it was a bargain.

Next week the $450 annual tags are due, the bumper to bumper expires (and Smith wants 5.2k for the 84/100k - OUCH).

Some point it will need brakes, not now but I imagine within a season or three. Plus the more involved services and flushes will be coming due. So next three years I figure the tag, maintenance and then buying an extended plan would be around 8.5k or so. Or less if I did not buy an extended plan.

So for me the decision was pretty simple. Not sure what CarMax will list it for. It's in perfect shape aside from very minor normal road wear and was never beat. Tires are the OEM runflats the I swapped out for take-off OEMS with PS3 all season on a few months after I bought it for winter driving. I'll drop the AS tires and wheels in the classified adds.

Anyway nice chatting with you guys on the board - actually there were not as many chats as there were really no issues. If you or someone you know end up with my old 2SS Hyper Blue with stripes I think you will enjoy it.

Cheers,

Rusty

Sound financial decision Rusty. Best of luck with whatever your next car may be.

Well, this happened today. I figure that's not bad for almost five years. Sixty thousand miles of fun.

Nice posts guys! I have to say if anything. I miss it was how well the SS handled.

If there was a complaint it was how stiff/hard it was on the road. You can't have everything.

It saved my life once with a gal on a cell phone who tried to bash me going fast and she was not looking - all instant luck - had to hard over left and inches (seriously) away from the concrete divider snap it back and center.

Car planted back - incredible - more capable in extremis than I could ever try to be.

I’m in the same boat as @bigd1276. Bought my car new and currently sits at 9600 miles. If you only take it out on nice days, and it’s put away all winter, you just don’t rack up many miles.

Same here for two years and about 5000 miles, but then I thought this was so silly, who am I saving this car for, and started doing road trips with my wife and kids, plus practicing and trying to improve my skills much more often. Still only at 12k miles after three years, but a lot more great memories.

I'm 6'3 and not skinny. The 2SS was a great car for long trips. Nonstop SF to LA was easy trip, 101 or the 5. Easy to do 8 hours and not feel terribly cramped.

I think for road trips it's very under-appreciated as it really does a nice job.
