I've only been a "rural Tennessean" for about a week (haha), but this is probably more nuanced than one would think, there isn't really a single mass of "people" and "they". For example, one of our neighbors is a CA transplant family, absolutely awesome free thinking people who have self-professedly grown apart from their folks they left in CA, so much so that they call them "nearly hopeless".

Do not let insurance low ball you. LT1s are selling used for more than MSRP right now. Carmax just offered me $41k for my 21 LT1 Coupe 5,400 miles MSRP about $39k.
