2016 Front Clip match to 2019+ body?

My 2014 White SS (sedan) was totaled couple weeks ago, searching for the right Camaro SS, and am limited because I really don't want to buy anything outside of the 2016-2018 years.

Does anyone know if the 2019+ hood/fenders would allow a front clip to be bolted on?

I would think "yes" due to the ZL1 being the same for 2019+.

I personally favor the 2016-2018 as well..

However I would get rid of the idea of bolting on a different front end to a 2019+. Paint colors won't match 100%, it's a lot of ****ing work, and a lot more money than just getting into a 2016-2018. They are out there, just everything is priced at a premium currently.

If didn’t like 2019 front (which is awesome btw), I’d go for a zl1 replica, I’ve seen some that fit the 2019 head lights on YouTube, then I’d wrap the whole car in a color I liked.

The front fascias should match. The problem is that the hood lines don't align between the frontends, so the hood should be swapped too. Headlights and lower DRLs also have to be switched. Overall you will pay a lot of money to make the frontend look like a 16-18.

I would too tend towards going for a ZL1-replica front if you really cant stand the new frontend, should be way cheaper. But personally I like the way the 20+ frontend looks once you add a frontsplitter

I guess my first question is why not buy a 16-18 if that's the style you like. A search on Cars.com for 16-18, 1SS/2SS with less than 10,000 miles brought up over 400 hits. You're not going to like the prices but there are hundreds for sale.

Well, he may also want the useful small improvements, i.e. line lock, custom launch control, new higher res screens, rear view camera and wireless charger module from a 2019+ SS.

Nothing the 2SS doesn't already have. My 2016 2LT RS has the rear view camera, bigger screen, wireless charger, and the rest can be added. Only drawback I see is you're paying new prices for used cars.

Stupid idea, you’ll spend too much to make it and the resale will be zero.

I have a 2018, so we are in the same boat, and I agree with you about the crazy pricing situation, but for the sake of correctness, let's not pretend we have those small goodies.

The 2019+ SS has line lock (we don't), customizable launch control (ours is hardcoded), 1080p screens (ours are 720p), rear view camera in the mirror (we have an auto dimming glass mirror, not a screen), upgraded wireless charger module that actually works with modern phones (ours is the original 2015-2016 model, although the new one is an easy swap).

Good advice - buying a 2018 Blue 2SS - should be in TX on the 15th.

Hey Arpad_m, have you verified that the new module actually works? If so, it will be my next mod!

The paint colors on the bumpers vs the rest of the car already don’t match. I don’t disagree with you though, I would just buy a 16-18 as well.
