Go some place you can try on a bunch and get fitted. I tried on about every brand and the Gforce fit me best and was the most comfortable. My wallet definitely didn’t mind that option either. I was prepared to drop big $$$ on a stilo.

Only going with a superior certification FIA 8660 would indicate superior impact performance.

Anyway price is usually a good indicator of comfort esp and options (i.e. built-in vent, water, mic, etc.). All of the basic Snell SA2020 helmets have provisions for a Head/Neck restraint device should you choose to use one in the future. You will need a full face for HPDE as autocross is usually less strict but you will want just one helmet. So go with what is required for HPDE.

I've never run with a group that required a full face helmet. NASA, SCCA, Chin, JustTrackIt, PDG, all allow open face.

The only time I have ever seen a requirement for full face is karting.

I only wear Full Face - Currently a Bell Carbon Series Custom Painted
I also collect Race Worn Helmets ( INDY, F1, IMSA)

to the OP, find a Performance shop that you can try on Helmets ( Wine Country, Stable, etc) you want a helmet that fits properly - the last thing you want is a Pressure Point headache or a Helmet flopping around

also consider a HANS device. Simpson's Hybrid system works with a 3 point system or even Karting

My Melon doesn't fit in a Arai or Bieffe at all. I've worn Bell's for years, my next might be a Stilo - the rep for IndyCar/IMSA is a friend of mine

Understand fully and a good call on your part. Sometimes things make little sense. Like some exec club committee making an arbitrary decision in their almighty wisdom vs referencing an official org that is in the official biz of testing motorsports safety equipment lol. Anyhow, sometimes we just have to roll with the punches to enjoy the ride and that's ok Cheers!

Good to know they trust SNELL. Apparently no conspiracy theorists at those organizations

No they don't. I have run there three times in the last year. All with my Arai GP-J3.

Good to know and it would defo be highly irregular for a track to mandate a full face. That's one very nice lid btw. Will have to check it out when my SA2015 expires. Cheers!
