AIM Solo 2 DL -- CAN bus install info?

Hi everyone, I'm looking to get an AIM Solo 2 DL for my 2018 ZLE. Has anyone done the CAN bus install? I'd like to log the additional data over the OBD2 install. Anyone have a guide?

Depends on what you're looking to log. I log RPM, VSS, TPPS, Brake Pressure / %, and steering angle. The only things I miss from PDR are gear indicator, ABS / TC / ESC engagement, and accurate IMU info like detected / commanded slip angle.

The basic OBD2 Solo can get a lot of info - it directly reads the CAN stream already at 10hz (not sure if it can go beyond 10hz, but 10hz is good enough for me).

I am an AIM Solo supporter in all aspects. You should seriously consider https://www.garmin.com/en-US/blog/au...nce-optimizer/

This tool offers a bigger display, predictive best lap video, real time audible coaching, and formatted video. It does not have an OBDII port yet. It is $1000 which is just a bit more than a camera for the AIM Solo. The best part is that the output doesn't require an engineer to decipher.

correct me if i am wrong but i beleive plugging in the can bus is the same as the obd2, you can plug it in obd2 and select the right programmation and you will have the same info. (just don't use the generic obd2 configuration in the solo, use the Corvette programmation) When you plug in the obd2, you basically plug on the can bus, you are just using the plug instead of soldering a wire directly onto it.

I have a MXL soldered on the can bus in our race car but i am getting the same info as if i was using the solo DL plugged in the obd2, only difference is my obd2 port is still available.

Still, if i want to use the obd port for example to use my hptuner, i need to disconnect my AIM MXL because they won't work together at the same time on the can bus.
