What pisses me off the most is why in the hell all the Corporations feel the need to be on the Web, this clearly should be a local area network - and unless your ass is plugged in at the site it should not matter.

Mind boggling.

Anyone remember hurricane Irma? That was a cluster **** 5 days before the storm and a couple days after. The media hyped it so much before Irma.

I'm more concerned about the massive price increases for our 93 octane!!!
At least you have 93!

None of the stations down here seem to carry 91. It's 87,89 or 93.

You're in wackoland, CA, what do you expect?

Besides the ones mentioned the scariest is they're allowed to provide lower grade fuels. Luckily I have 3 vehicles with full tanks as of this past Sunday and can go for another 2-3 weeks between them until this blows over and that crap gets used up.

This exactly, did they not learn when the water supply was hacked in Florida. It was clearly a test run to this. There is absolutely no legitimate reason why these massive infrastructure projects need to be connected to the internet. Everything they do can be done on a closed network LAN with no connectivity. Your already running a pipe, just run the cat5 cables along with it to the control stations.

Actually, the network is only closed until someone makes a "jump box" available from off-network. Various controls, monitors, and management stations need to access things and that can all be done on a closed network. As soon as someone needs to access that same stuff from "home", the compromise can happen. It's everywhere.

That is the problem, off-site connections should not be used. Better start paying someone to be on site at the control center 24/7.
