Any new thoughts on keeping the battery charged over the winter?
I can press one of my old Battery Tenders into duty or pick up one of the CTEK 3300s pretty easily.

This is what I have. There are terminals in the engine compartment that I hooked into. Worked like a charm. He fired right up after a long winter’s nap.

I went with the Noco to over the Ctek. Charges more types of batteries.

I always keep my camaro plugged in to a tender.
But there are risks. Several years ago we had a near lightening strike. Surge came thru the house, and thru the tender plugged into my C6 corvette. Did like $3300 damage to the car as it blew up the BCM, and two ABS sensors. Completely smoked the battery tender, I mean charred burnt carnage! So now if I even think there is chance of t-storm...I unplug the cars.

I have connected directly to battery, just made a small hole in the cover to feed the end through, can pull out like a foot of cord when needed and tuck in out of the way when not being used

Not sure how well I did on that part, but here we are in 2021 now and my original battery is still going strong. The car sits in a 40° garage all winter, plugged into the CTEK. BTW, the CTEK comes with a nice pigtail with (what do you call them?) the round hole ends so you can bolt the pigtail to the battery securely. On the other end of the pigtail is a nice connector that only goes on one way, to attach to the lead from the charger body. I find that the rubber gasket around the trunk opening is forgiving enough that I can close the trunk lid over the charger lead for the winter. I have the pigtail coming out the edge of the little carpet door near the battery. When not needed, I just stuff the pigtail back in there. Plenty of room.
