My parents live in Norman and they just missed that hail and said there was a ton of damage in the area. I used to live in OKC and I remember working at Penn Square and there was a hail storm very similar. Pretty much totaled everything in that parking lot. I have a Blue 2020 myself, your pics make me cringe......

Oh my!! Sorry to see that happen to your Camaro. I would be crossing my fingers to have it totaled, but it all could very well work out in the end (either way). I just cringe of the idea of having to deal with body shops period. Much like going into the dealer for service. You go in to have something fixed, and there’s a good chance you come out with a new something that needs to be fixed.

Any guesses?
My hail storm didn't produce such damage, but here it is! https://www.disputesinconstruction.c...hail-storm.mp4

Bunch of golfers took a beating in this one

Why didn't you run out and jump on the hood to protect it!

I jest, that just sucks

Ouch! We had some wild hail down here a little south of me in San Antonio (I live in New Braunfels) that were like baseball sized! I heard the warning and sped home and got my car into the garage both times ASAP to be safe!

OP: Spoke with the wife that worked in auto insurance for over 30 years, she said if the damage is less than 70% of the value of the vehicle and it doesn't have structural damage that would impact the safety after the repair then, your insurance company will most likely repair it.

Hope All goes will.

In similar situation I opted to take the check for the delta in-between original value and new diminished value. $7000 - car was a 2004 VW Passat TDI. No glass was broken but every upward facing panel was majorly dented. A couple of fake plasticky chrome trim pieces broke, I just tore them all the way off. Years later sold the car to a buddy for the diminished value bargain.

Hail

The shop where I used to work, I did 50 cars over several months. Back then we completely stripped the interior(everything but the dash) and put new roof skins on. Big job. Later we switched to have a paintless dent removal guy spend months fixing as many dents as possible on top surfaces. Bolt on parts like hood, fenders, and deck lids were replaced. Either way it will take a while to do, and basically require a full repaint. Last thing you want is someone to use body filler to fix all the dents. It will shrink over time and you will see "assholes" all over the place showing thru the paint. It is not bad on vertical surfaces, but top surfaces are the worst. Metal is very thin and easily warped. Just the friction from using a hand sanding block can have you chasing a dent across a hood. Until you hit 70-80% of current value, it will not total out. Good luck with repairs.
