Next Winter Project/Headers

Being in the northeast, like most, my car gets put away for most of the winter. For me, that is a great time to work/upgrade the car. So with the idea "it is never too late to start planning"......

Need suggestion/ideas/real world experiences on....

Best Coating on Headers to reduce heat build up in the engine compartment.

Thanks in advance, Tony

I had my Kooks coated with the Jet Hot ultra 2500F coating. I'm super impressed with it, its very durable and it keeps the heat inside. Its actually cooler in my engine bay with the coated headers than it was with the stock manifolds by a significant margin. I've had them on for 6 months and they still look new.

I just ordered ARH headers from RDP Store and had ARH install an extra bung for my wide band and then ceramic coat them before shipping out to me. Not the cheapest way to go but definitely the highest quality workmanship and the ceramic coating looks almost like stainless steel. I couldn’t be more pleased with how they look. I want quality in my build.

Only thing I'd recommend is Swain Tech coatings. My ARH headers have been coated and 3 years later no flaking or chipping. Engine bay heat was reduced significantly. If you stop the car, pop the hood, you will feel more heat from SC than headers.

Always heard good things about Swaintech but do they actually have any colors other than white? That being said, the Jet-Hot 2500 coating is top notch as well and comes in a few colors for those that don't want white.

+1 on Swain Tech I bought my 2" ARH from RDP and had ARH weld an extra bung. Then I shipped the headers to Swain Tech and not a beautiful finish but it works amazing.

I haven’t seen anyone go with shorty headers yet. Like them?

I had no other choice, long tubes are illegal here.
The outlet diameter is larger than the stock manifolds.
But the quality of the BBK shorty's really sucks!
Hopefully I have my build finished within the next few weeks and find out how they perform.
