Yes all that add on crap is pure ripoff as to pricing. If an LT1 has a factory LT4 then I would gladly pay $45K for it!

Same here, but $29K on a bare LT1 purchased March 2020. The prices right now are outrageous.

That’s the way to buy an LT1.

Seems that way. Probably the stealership gets more markup by adding a bunch of options to the Lt1.

No way I'd pay 43k for a LT1. Get the 1ss.

Last fall a local Chevy dealer had good deals to clear out the 1ss. 1ss, automatic, with NPP and other options for 37k and some change. probably get them down to 36k with haggling since it was left over 2020 they wanted to clear. They had 4 left. I almost bit BUT went with a low miles used 2016 2SS full of options for 31k.

I'd still prefer the 2ss over a 1ss.

I see it differently. I simply see the SS as simply another V8 trim. An LT1 with magnetic ride and additional track friendly components. Versus viewing the LT1 like it’s a new V6 offering.

of course if the LT1 was priced right I would have bought one. The closest LT1s in my price range were in Tampa, Orlando or Plant city and around 34,500 with incentives.

I know mine is a 2016 2SS BUT it was really low miles and being 2ss had more options, and 4k cheaper.

And one can appreciate the vented seats on a warm FL day.

I have the Recaro seat options which comes with the heater cooling unit. If I wanted, it’s a $50 fix to turn it on but the Camaro has one of the most lackluster cooled seats out there.

I REALLY need to get the windows tinted too. Here in March we have had some days in the upper 80s and it's already getting hot getting into the car without tinted windows.

Since you are obviously quoting here your MODIFIED LT1 vs your stock SS, do you seriously doubt that adding MT 17" drag radials, Rotofab, and Velossa scoop to your SS (same mods as your LT1 to make it into a valid comparison) could have let you run similar times to your modified LT1, particularly with you at a 35lbs lighter driver weight like now?
The lt1 is proven to be faster than the ss on drag or roll racing top speed the ss takes it because it limits the lt1 to 150

...show us the proof. The LT1 is only 66 pounds lighter than the 1SS stock, which alone is small enough to make it a drivers' race, and it's on inferior narrower rear wheels and tires stock. Never heard of a 150 mph limit either, even the vert is limited to 155 and not 150.

(I understand the urge to rationalize a purchase, but try to resist it myself—for example, I never say my supercharged 2SS is better than or even as good as a ZL1, even though it has roughly the same power and is lighter.)

Not quite an apples to apples comparison unless you consider the jump from an LT1 to SS to be just as big of a jump from the SS to LT1. Personally, I see the difference between the LT1 to SS to be the exact same as going from a GT to Mach 1.

This is from GM taken from the 2020 Camaro Brochure book. It seems to me that the LT1 and SS are pretty even. The exceptions being Top speed limiters and narrower tires in the rear on the LT1. So how bout we put the LT1 and SS never ending debate fests aside and enjoy our cars. I know I enjoy mine. On the drag strip in my mind the two are basically a drivers race as mentioned.
