I'm a GM muscle/sports car enthusiast in general but I'd say I'm a Camaro enthusiast above all. While I appreciate all sports and muscle cars, Camaros and Trans Ams are my favorite. I got started at an early age and it has stuck with me. This is me and my Dad circa 1977.

I consider myself a camaro enthusiast. I’ve had 5 f bodies and now a 6 the gen some manuals some autos, love my cammed 2002 z28, which I bought new and still have , it’s so simple , it’s an auto, ttops, traction control has 2 settings , on or off.
My 1le is a manual and so much fun, a great driving experience and driving modes, dual mode exhaust etc, yet it’s so much more refined than the 4th gen. |

I would definitely consider myself a car (vehicle, really) enthusiast but not necessarily a hardcore "camaro enthusiast". I like the 6th Gen's and a few older models (i.e. '69 Yenko), but other than that I couldn't care less about Camaros.

Go to the drag strip.
Go to cruise nights. Join a group. Keep your Camaro clean. DIY basic maintenance. Go on joy rides to nowhere. Go into the garage late at night just to look at your Camaro and sit in it. |

My wife has a good one. She says an Enthusiast is anyone who when washing their car, washes the engine bay, under carriage and backsides of the wheel rims. Lol.

I started noticing cars in the early 60s. One of the first highly anticipated new car arrivals I was aware of was the 1962 Grand Prix. I remember the greaser neighbors 63 Impala 409 convertible drag racing up my street while I was raking leaves with my dad. I remember standing in the back seat of my dads 58 Buick and getting passed by a beatnik biker on and Indian Scout. I asked my dad what it was... he said an Indian... I said... no it was just a guy with a beard.
I love boats cars bikes and planes. radial plane engines are the coolest engines Ive ever seen. I also love 80s Mercury 2 stroke boat engines and Yamaha 350s or Kawasaki 750s. Needle Nose Peterbilts and Cat 1693 TA engines. P-51 Mustangs and even steam locomotives. I can tell what car it is by seeing a glimpse of a quarter fender. I can tell what brand of big truck it is at night just by the way the lights are configured... Maybe Im an enthusiast. I had car and motorcycle magazine subs when I was 7. I still have many of those mags stored away. Even the adds turn me on. I dont know.. maybe I am.

No.
But maybe it helps to have at least driven a couple of them. Norm

You spend time learning about vehicle dynamics and performance and how to improve on either the car that you bought for yourself or the car that somebody else bought and a discussion topic comes up that you feel qualified to answer. I'm not just talking about engine performance here. Norm
