Anyone have C7 Z07 before ZL1 1LE

Probably the oldest question for some of us. But I can’t find any definitive answer.

Shopping used. Not for my daily.
Street w/ track purpose
1LE vs Z07 Z06
Manual vs manual
Both will be modded probably

My short list of knowledge:
* Z06 lighter
* Z06 overheats

* ZLE better suspension
* ZLE apparently doesn’t over heat

I’m seeing faster track times with Z06’s. ZLE’s about 2 seconds off the pace. Granted, that may be 1st or 2nd lap b4 overheating.

I welcome any input from those who have already done this thought process.

2024 = Always come back to ZLE. Actively Looking.

Had a 2017 Z06 manual never had a problem on a road course. Early autos would overheat. 2015/2016. They added extra cooling in 2017. Stay with a stick and you should be fine.

This creates a multi variable, unsolvable equation.

I think the choice also comes down to use. I’m assuming you’re a track rat based on your sig. Other factors like tire choices, pack space, consumables cost might also factor in. If lap times are the driving factor, you might also validate what class you’d compete in. Ex: SCCA Classes ZLE’s in S1/T1, while C7Z’s are excluded from those classes.
