So I now just turn everything off (hold the button for 7-10 seconds)......solved the problem. Just gotta be careful with throttle control.

Went past 1500 miles. Had the oil changed, changed the rear differential fluid (they did find some metal shards in the drained fluid) and put in a brand new air filter for the cold air intake. Probably just me but it feels ever so slightly more crisp in terms of throttle response and power. Started to open her up more. Holy mother this thing goes!

Guys, I have really enjoyed reading this thread! I've never owned a p car and never had the desire. I've had a 520 rwhp C5 Z06 and a stock C6 Z06. The C5 has made a great track car with a big brake kit, though the C6 tried to kill me so it was sold.

I had a 67,68 and 69 Camaro that I all hotrodded and improved with the 67 running 9's in the qtr and very respectable on the road course.

I semi retired from road racing, sold the C5 to my son and made do with a 385hp Tacoma for a few years as a dd. Picked up a 17 ZL1, added a hundred hp, track wheels, tires and pads and am in love again. I've only got $40k in this thing with less then 40k miles and though I dearly wanted to build one more first gen I'd have to spend double that to even come close to this 6th gen at the track let alone being comfortable. Any laptime comparisons between that C5 and the ZL1 yet?

Not yet. My son now drives the C5 and on short courses I think it would be faster but truthfully, he's not as fast as me as he's still learning yet so I may never know.

On the longer courses with a nice long straight I'm guessing the ZL1 would take it with about 150 more wheel hp, but that C5 can go much deeper in the corners with that big brake kit and weighing 800lbs less.
