Geoff,
I actually just posted another pic for you in the Wild Cherry thread, but then I noticed you said California in this thread. All new Camaros with Brembo brakes (all V8s) were just suspended from shipping to California for EPA reasons, I believe it was because of copper content in the brake pads. You can buy one already on the lot, and Chevy supposedly has a fix in the works, but I haven't seen a timeline on it yet, and who knows with the plant shut down for the moment, anyway. Google some of the key words like Camaro Brake Pads California and I'm sure you can find the details. Stuart Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

Thanks again for the pics in the other thread. Indeed, I was aware of the CA/WA ban on 2021 ZL1 due to the brakes, and so at this point I was looking at ordering a 2022. Choice being between Wild Cherry and Vivid Orange, two awesome colors ![]() I mentioned units at local dealers, but those are non ZL1. It would really just be to look at Wild Cherry in person. I did note that Colorados also have that color as an option, unfortunately local units all seem to be Summit White... Hopefully I have a chance to pass by a dealership this weekend. Crossing fingers!!! Geoff |

If your dealer is requiring a deposit, get in writing from sales manager that your deposit is fully refundable just in case the car comes and you for whatever reason don't want to take delivery. Pricing was up in the air to a degree for me until in drew closer to production but you'll have a general idea/ballpark by using a 2021 MY with the same options you're ordering for your 2022. Also don't forget about any rebates Chevy will hopefully be throwing at the Camaros when you go to take delivery! Enjoy the process it's really fun to order and get to go through the status progression until it comes time to take delivery! My salesman even took pictures of my car on the car hauler as it was being delivered. With mine it felt like Christmas morning as I had them leave on the seat protective covers and my assembly line build code sheet was still in the passengers seat- a very cool keepsake that shows you the date and time your car went down the assembly line!

I also sat down and went through the whole process when I ordered my ZLE. Loved every minute of it. I will recommend this. Make sure your dealer shows you an email verifying they have an Allocation. I know of at least three different people who dropped deposits down only to find out their dealer did not have an Allocation. After waiting long periods of time too. The dealer will just hold your money and wait till they either get an Allocation or you get fed up and just decide to say eff it and get something off their lot. Like Intimidator said, get in writing that your deposit is refundable. |
