Let the dealer help? Seriously? I hope that was a joke...

Thanks for this bro. Although I do have the money for another 2 tires, I plan to relocate the wiring harness on the drivers side and just roll with these.

My recommendation: cut your losses, sell the incorrect tires and get the proper size.

Risk of ignoring the good advice received here: possibility of stabilitrak and possible limp mode issues.

FYI... After running these tires for about a week and putting 260 miles on them, I pulled both wheels and checked for any signs of rubbing... Nada, nothing.

So, I am just going to keep these.

Probably going to check again in another 300 miles and will post pics.

So, I gave up and went to Amazon. found them and ordered them.

Or, so I thought.

They arrived yesterday and I gleefully took them to my favorite alignment guy to have them mounted and have the car aligned.

Well, when I got home, I noticed their isn't a lot of clearance between the tire and the inner fenderwell, so I took a closer look at the sidewall markings... These are 305/35R20. Dammit Jim!

Anyway, has anyone else ever made this mistake before? Is there anything detrimental to this?

They don't seem to rub, unless you count the pinecone that got stuck to one of the tires and was rubbing the felt liner. But, I pulled that off.

Just trying to decide if I should keep these, or get the correct size.

Comments? Thoughts?

P.S. I went back and checked my order. They did not ship the wrong size in error. I was the dummy that chose the wrong aspect ratio.

This past week, on Discount Tire Direct's eBay store, I just ordered the Nitto 555 G2's for my car. eBay has a discount code for $100 off $400. Just buy the fronts separate from the backs, and got $200 off. Tires showed up the next day. I think the code is PUMPITUP. The code got automatically added at checkout. I paid $460 for the rears, and $410 for the fronts shipped.

I just checked. The deal is still active, as of this morning.

Confirmed, PUMPITUP code works for $100 off.

To clarify are you running the G2 street tire or the R2 drag radial? The new R2 drag radial runs wider then any previous Nitto tire. Nitto's prior have always ran on the small side for their size rating. I have ran the 305/35/20 555r drag radial and now have the same size in the R2 which is a good 1/4" wider. I had to relocate the wiring harness on the driver side rear or the tire would of rubbed through the fender liner. This is on a SS, the ZL1 may have a little more clearance.

Probably not a lot, but I do wonder...
Theoretically, the taller tire should help a little bit (the sidewall is probably still too stiff to give like in a drag radial). The taller tire is reducing torque at the rear contact patch, and the taller tire also has a slightly larger contact patch since it is slightly longer front to back.

The torque reduction due to the larger dia. tires would be like going from the stock 2.85 rear diff. to a 2.73, so not a drastic change.

But I don't know if it will be that noticeable. How's it hooking up compared to the stock size?

If this was directed towards me... I have the G2 in the front and the new RII in the rear. The fronts are the stock size, the rears are 305/35R20.

I thought I was ordering 305/30R20 so the error is mine not theirs. But they really don't rub.

It is hooking up awesome! I have so much more traction than I had with the 315/30R20 G2s in the rear. It is so noticeable. And these really are not that expensive compared to the Michelin PS4. So much so that I might just buy another pair to keep in the garage.

As soft as these are, I don't see them lasting 12k like the G2s did.

I bet they last 7k miles or so. That is what I got out of the 555r's. I suspect the R2's last a little longer since they have more tread depth. I only have about 500mi on the R2's so far but they do hook pretty well.
