Porter SC and 9.1 lower no heat soak but I’m only doing
Rolls and drags. If tracking I probably would got back to stock size pulleys but the ported blower helps a lot.

Just remember, that blower was too small for a 4.6 liter 2V Mustang engine 20 years ago. Sure GM revised and upgraded it. But it was made and pushed to work efficiently. And pretty much, it is as close to maxed out bone stock as any blower can be. In fact, the only reason GM went with this one is because they had to for clearance on the C7 Z06. Otherwise that blower wouldn't even exist. So no, I do not recommend porting it or doing a pulley swap. With the ZL1/LT4 you gotta be prepared to dump money into it to get a good working efficient working good combination. Do not skimp just to port the blower. Plus, in the future, if you do decide to swap it out, you will have wasted money on the stock blower. Save up and get rid of it altogether in one shot.

Depends on your goals, that's a lot of coin (4X more) for a 2650R if you're not looking to achieve 900-1000whp+. The stock ported blower and lower pulley is more than good enough to achieve up to 900whp for a lot less money.

What combo of mods are you thinking of here? This is higher than any number I've seen.

Pray Performance... ported blower, heads/cam, made just over 900 with direct port meth meth & E. It ran 8.8 @ 153 when it was around 850whp.

See my sig below, this made 877WHP on E60 with the stock ported blower... no road course racing here though, only country driving and a trip to the drag strip 3-4 times a year.

So, w/o knowing the exact specs such as fuel lobe, it's basically the same build as mine will be except I'll run 104UL at the track versus meth, but I'm thinking only 825whp at this point.

This makes me not wanna spend the extra money on a 2650. Especially since more power than that isn’t necessary on a road course.

This has been really helpful

This is the most popular topic at this site, so let's all try to be more precise.

When I said "my build", here it is:

Custom valve train
PP heads
FII blower spacer plates & thermal reduction blanket
Kong ported blower/snout
NW 103mm ported TB
Griptec snout pulley ( 2.4)
10% lower pulley
MMS mild catch can
DSX low side pump
Kooks Long tubes
Hi-flow cats
Custom heat exchangers
RotoFab
104UL @ $9.85/Gal
ECM Tune/dyno

It may or may not make 825whp, we'll see in April.

Back to your comment, and others here know more than I on these topics, but here's KaTech's 2650 pkg. pump gas numbers:

KaTech G6 Camaro ZL1 Stage 5
• Roto fab Intake
• Supercharger Pulley
• Lower Pulley
• CNC Headwork
• Springs
• Lifters
• Camshaft
• 103mm Throttle Body
• Magnuson 2650
Power Target: 925BHP/785whp
Starting at: $22,000.00

And my build will cost you something like $20-26,000

Thanks for sharing this. My goal Whp is 700ish. So for now, I should be fine with port work and a pulley. The added cost of a 2650 at that point is 6k or so, I believe.

I have all bolt ons. I never wanted to go beyond what could easily be returned to stock. 2" Headers, full 3" custom x pipe into suitcase, etc. Check my for sale thread rather than me dumping it here again. Unless you're wanting to beat your chest and claim you have xxxhp, I can't see how you'd need more than the 660-690whp people make with bolt ons. I may be a crappy driver, but on a tight track with shorter straights I can't use all of the power I have now, 670/659 in my ZLE. Maybe Daytona or Indy idk. With cooling upgrades and sensible pulleys the car is amazing. Anything more and your needing to address fueling issues, etc. Personally I think the Maggie 2300 and bolt ons seems like the sweet spot unless you're willing to address fueling issues. Again, this is all imho. What do I know?

Fwiw, kong ported blower and snout plus the addition of the nxlid (awesome btw) I invested north of 2.5k in the stock blower. Shop for a good deal on a 2300 and sell your stock blower. Then later have kong port the 2300 for increased gains. That's that only thing I would have done differently. But then you lose your stock blower so make sure you don't want to go back to stock.

I feel like this is most in line with my thought process. 650-700whp is where I wanna be. I don’t see me needing more especially thinking I’m gonna track it. The 2300 is an interesting thought, although their 5k... port work and a pulley is 1500. I’m gonna stick with the stock lid:

Thanks for the input

So a ported blower and snout can increase temps somewhat if I'm understanding correctly? Thinner material heat transfers quicker ? At $1500 this, $1500 that/ headers, $1500 in cam parts it sounds like leave the motor stock or just do a 2650R and a cam or cam only and run cooler ? Its is outrageous what this LT stuff cost. I will probably do a cam/oil pump only once my car warranty is off and paid for.
