Just checked with Chevy Cust service on Order# ZKTZVN.
Its still at 3400 and due this week and my dealer I guess put an expedited status. They seem to want to put there head in the sand that the plant is closed and have some magic that it will be built this week due to their "relationship" with the plant. I gave them $1k down with nothing in writing. The order does have my name on it.
Sorry if this gets long winded as I'm an engineer and try to cover all my bases.
Here is my concern: The plant is closed for at least two weeks. That is an estimate based on when parts become available. We know parts are being funneled to the trucks and SUVs as priority when they do come in. This is not a short term shortage. Also, I know as an engineer, the pressure goes back on eng and material to find alternate options to use which are not the original planned parts. May work know but not the original intended design and may affect long term reliability. If I wait and hope, the available inventory across the country will be reducing. If I go find a vehicle maybe clear across the country, I may be doing it on my own as my dealer doesn't seem to want to deal with trading.
Looking for advice: Drop the order and go find something or wait?
