Sirius radio differences in Camaro and Ford

In Ford vehicles with sirius radios, you have the ability to rewind and listen to songs for approximately 45 minutes as long as you don't turn off the automobile.

In my 2017 camaro I do not have the ability to rewind a song and listen again.

Why would Chevrolet, allow such a feature to be left out?

The ability to listen to a favorite song more than once should be available on a Chevrolet just as it is on a Ford.

A casual buyer might go with Ford over GM just because of this one feature.

I even asked my salesperson about the difference and he had no answer.

1. I do not use satellite radio
2. buy the mp3
3. win

And if you really want to bitch, bitch about how much better uconnect is than both Chevy and Ford combined. How could they be so much worse than FCA (Stellantis)

You would have to ask the Marketing folks of GM for those answers. Since you and I both have a 2017 Camaro, technology has really changed in the 4 years our cars were built so it seems to reason that would be the case.

My wife's 2013 Ford Edge seemingly has a better Sirius/XM setup than my Camaro's. Additionally, if you want both station types, you have to buy Sirius XL on the Chevy unit, not on the Ford unless that's changed in the last couple of years. Obviously satellite radio wasn't a priority...

It's an overlooked detail that should have been addressed at some point. My 2014 f 150 has radio features the 2017 Camaro doesn't have.

Workaround:

If you have Sirius, you are likely able to use the smartphone streaming app. You can rewind etc on the App. In fact, I think you can rewind to the start of a particular program if you like, without having to have had the app running all the time.

I pay for Sirius in my DD, and paid for for it (albeit cheap...$5/month) for the summer for my SS. I didn't seem to listen to it as much as in my DD since I like my playlists better while driving the SS, so this summer I'm just going to use the app to stream when I want to use Sirius.

Hmm, doesn't the new 2019+ MyLink 3 infotainment have rewinding satellite radio? Can someone with a post-refresh car please confirm or deny?

Just found the Straight Pipes 2020 ZL1 1LE review, they specifically mention that it does have the rewind feature: https://youtu.be/MelvNbe7obY?t=982

So it seems only us 2016-2018 owners are left out, I read that some trucks with the old 2.5 infotainment did have this feature, some had an SD card reader as well etc. Must have been a bit of cost cutting in the pre-refresh Camaros.
