Supercharger Bolt Torque
I was installing my catch can and when I was torquing the bolts for the supercharger I accidentally tightened them to 99in lb. I know they are supposed to be torqued to 89. My question is will this cause a problem and should I buy all new bolts again and retorque them to 89 inlbs?

That was my feeling too. I’m just so damn paranoid about screwing something up.

likely within error range of a small inch pound torque wrench also...you are fine

These bolts do not go tight. I reused mine and I was fine. You have to remember, they are just compressing a rubber seal. In the "old" days intake gaskets were not rubber and had to have a higher clamping force to seal. You really don't need much. It can be done with a 1/4" ratchet

I was using a 1/4” torque wrench. I just had it set wrong. There was never a point where the bolts got easier to twist. Since it’s less than a ft lb I’m just going to leave them. They were brand new bolts too.

Do you you all reuse the bolts or replace them after the catch can install?

The Magnuson bolt torque is 108 inch pounds so 99 shouldn't be an issue for the Lt4.

Inch pounds not Foot lbs...huge difference! 99in lbs is only 8.25 ft lbs.
