Question about rear diff
When I engage snow/ice mode, does that lock up the rear diff to give better traction in bad weather i.e. similar to a locking diff on a 4 wheel drive truck?

On the SS (non 1LE) model the different modes have different software maps for throttle, NPP exhaust, steering and suspension (MRC on 2SS). The rear diff uses mechanical methods (clutches and friction modifier in the fluid) to manage the rear wheel engagement from side to side.
The one thing that makes the most difference in snow/ice driving is your right foot. Go slow and easy like you have an egg under your right foot. Of course since you live in Cleveland I'm sure you know all about that.
