Modding the stock air box by itself doesn't to jack squat for our cars. It only matters if you're making other mods AND tuning.

But I better trade for a civic because I don't know hat.
That depends on some mitigating factors, I suppose. If one were going to do the mods it has anyway, it might not be out of the question.

I think his statement may be directed at the original question of the insulators.

To be honest when I first read the post & looked at the picture I’d be lying if I didn’t think to myself “Really?”.I would imagine many thought the same thing.

I understand there are some people with very limited automotive knowledge, so I let it slide, as did others. He chose differently.

I agree EFDHOBBIES! Or maybe someone at the dealership took off the CAI and put a stock one on after the car was traded in.

I surely wouldn’t consider buying this ZL1 either because you really wouldn’t know what tune is in the car and who did it. It might even be locked too! I would want a ZL1 this new to have a factory warranty so if there are any motor issues they would be covered.

Depends on pricing. If they gave u a few hour unchaperoned test drive you could find out a few more things for sure, then make an appropriate low offer.

The ZL1 in discussion is at Hendrick Chevy in Hoover Al listed for $61,000. Has low miles and is a 2020.

Thank you guys for all the info. I have since decided to just order a new one. Makes me nervous not knowing what has been done to it plus I dont plan on doing any of that to it except maybe CAI and axel back exhaust in the future. Plus I knew something was up when i saw the throttle controller. I have one in my v6 lifted jeep for obvious reasons but couldnt understand why a ZL1 would need that. It makes my jeep more peppy but a 650hp car i dont see it.

Sadly, insert any number here. My 800hp feels slow sometimes as well. There's a fine line between fun/scary/undriveable, but it's always fun trying to find that line! I can assure you the throttle controller will add some spice to driving if you've gotten used to the stock setup. Toss it in sport and it's like a new car for a while.

You are doing the right thing in buying a new ZL1 Christy because you don’t know about a used ZL1 that has been modded and how it was driven, etc. Yes a ZL1 will make that Jeep feel like a slug!

Never a bad choice to order a new one (as long as its financially doable for you).

You'll see why some of us are putting throttle controllers on our ZL1s after you drive yours. The manual transmission ZL1s suffer from a throttle lag when starting from a stop.

Some people don't care about it, some of us can't stand it. Small complaint in an otherwise bad ass car.
