Big fan of their product quality so thought it worth noting that they can count on my money upfront to hedge R&D costs. Think it's confusing that we're the only platform without valves and don't want to spend >$1,000 on a system that costs me a feature which makes the car a better DD. Maybe it's the low volume that would make the ROI not worth the investment but haven't really gotten an answer yet.

I’m with you on this, the car came with this capability from the factory , why would I eliminate it ? Yes I want a louder exhaust but I want my cake and want to eat it too if I’m spending $1200+ for an exhaust system.

I wonder how a valved system would look which would keep their current muffler set up. It would probably be a complete redesign.

More tone, less valves. The AWE sound is second to none. All tone, no drone.

Mean in green.

Another vote for a valved version! I'll take headers all the way back with valves, thanks!

I agree but don't think they really care what we want. As is evident by their posts glossing over the replies in here

No valve no sale to me either. If it works for them then fine but I want more tone and the same valves.

The absence of valves is the only reason I am not buying the AWE exhausts either, no matter how good they sound.

The sound of the touring comes from the design of the mufflers. Without completely redesigning the muffler ($$$) I don’t see how a NPP function can be added to their current systems. Even if they could, are people looking for a quieter system than it currently is with valves closed? You could always add dump valves just before the muffler to make it louder. If you want quieter than the touring axle back you may as well keep the stock NPP.

The arrogance of openly ignoring your customers and even slapping them in the face with your replies doesn't go unnoticed.

There are plenty of other companies that will gladly give me what I want in exchange for my money, rather than giving me what they think I want.

Agreed, has been interesting to see and changed my opinion.

I’m surprised about this because they already have a switchpath exhaust for other cars which is like the npp valves, they must not think the market is there for it ?

Same thing I was saying earlier, but no response other than the above "more tone, less valves"...

Hey everyone, thanks for you feedback regarding Valves. There are many reasons we did not offer an NPP style exhaust for the Gen6 Camaros, C7 Corvettes nor the C8 Corvettes. The one advantage NPP valves have over our systems is cold-start noise. I know this is a big concern for those of you who live in communities and neighborhoods where you want to be a positive member and not awaken the dead. I get that.

Second, there is the Cake and Eat It Too crowd that wants to put on headers, delete the cats and still manager a stock-like sound when in town. Totally get that as well.

The development of the Camaro and C7 product lines precedes my time here but I will tell you this. As a dad with 2 kids and wife, and having never driven our SS1LE with stock NPP, I never found myself saying "I wish this thing had a valve button" except for one morning I had to take it to Cars and Coffee pretty early. That was with our Touring Edition exhaust.

I shot dozens of in-car videos for my Monday's with Dave and never had issues with our GoPro picking up my voice. Many Touring Edition owners will tell you the same things - Bluetooth Calls, conversations, non-wide open throttle, the Touring system is really fantastic. When you stomp on it, yes, it is a different beast.

The valves our engineering team chooses to use are very expensive and I believe they would add another $1000 on to the price of a system (our systems with 2 valves are generally in the $3300 range). Is that in the range of price you would expect for a valved system? Also, Valves have issues and are not covered by our lifetime warranty. This means if you had a valve failure in 3 years, you would be sending in your system for a repair. I know it's attractive, but there are some real business reasons and AWE chose to lean on our 30 years of experience and not offer them at the outset.
