Replace stock axle-back with?

I'm going to replace the stock axle-back exhaust and there's no fewer than a million different systems out there.

I know it's been discussed in-depth here but are there video/audio of what most or many customers have chosen?

AWE Touring axleback sounds awesome on the ZL1. I’d do the full catback to get rid of the crimped OEM section, and to allow you to run either resonated or non-resonated midpipes, but that’s a personal preference. It’s LOUD without the resonators and the resonators will just “take the edge off”. Many vendors here carry AWE but RDP Store usually runs sale coupons on it for better prices.

I had the Borla Atak on my SS and loved it! May add it to my ZLE along with the carbon tips.

I have the AWE Touring axle back. It’s awesome. No pun intended.

Be mindful that any exhaust mods may put you over the db limits at some tracks, if you're not already there with your current mods. I've been black flagged for noise at a couple of tracks and I'm still running the stock suitcase. Once I determined where the db meters were located, I was able to lift a bit as I passed but it's still a minor pita.

My course in Colorado is in the middle of nowhere with no noise restrictions. Is your course near residential?

There was a thread just not too long ago with a compilation.

I’d look it up for you, but I’m feeling a bit lazy right now.

1973 just recently posted his S-Type/ header’d vids.

If I do one, I’m going that route again. Up in the air on which tips. Might take me a year to decide that.

The full cat back is just a few hundred more then the axle backs, for the most part. Your basically paying for the mufflers and valves (if you go that route) so honestly it’s a better idea to just get the full cat back. Your also set in the future if you go headers to as most will bolt and fit right up to a full cat back. Keeping the npp function is great too as the sound is totally different when valves are closed.

I have the borla s-type with headers/green cats and I think it’s one of the best sounding exhausts. I had the atak mufflers before the headers and that was a good sound too, but once the headers were on it was nascar loud.

The carbon fiber tips on that red imo would look the best! You’ll Bret the sleek black plus the borla red/white lettering.

I get ya, & I agree. The CF does look good. Would tie together nicely if I ever get a low-pro CF spoiler.

On the other hand I love the look of polished stainless. Shows more exhaust residue, but that’s easily taken care of. A couple squirts of Berryman’s B12 & a paper towel & good as new. Do mine about once a week.

aFe sounds great, just another option besides the others. Not overly loud when the butterflies are closed and a nice bark when open
