New Tires and lug nuts

So I bought my ZL1 used with 7K miles and the original tires which I figured would need to be replaced soon. Well the rears were quickly at 2/32 so pulled the trigger this past weekend. I decided to go with the GYSC F1 tires for the following reasons:

1) I really have not had any time with these tires so I thought it would be a good idea to do my own analysis of how they perform.
2) Discount Tires had a Goodyear sale and rebate to good to pass up...out the doors installed, taxes, etc...$1,100

Anyway...I now have some nice new meat on the rear...this should be fun!

Oh yeah and I went ahead and replaced the chrome Chevy lug nuts with some Black Gorilla locking lug nuts...I think they go better with my Black ZL1

Great tires. I have gone thru two sets of rears in 13 k miles and one set of fronts . They are an excellent tire imo. I did put a set of the nitto555r II on the back last week.

Please follow up and let us know what you think about the Nitto 555R ll...I was thinking about this rear tire for running the 1/2 mile.

Anything must be better than these POS Continentals Australia makes the ZL1s run. Once these are done, Mich PSC2 will have the duty of holding down the rear end. I ran their predecessor before on my earlier sportscar and loved them. So I'm eager to see if they will hook this animal up to the asphalt.

OEM tires are fantastic. I'm also in Arizona and have been through a few sets of them. On my ZLE, I'll be switching to the non-R tires in a few months just for longevity and road manners reasons.

Makes sense and thanks for sharing. Do you ever attend the Chandler CnC?

I am also very happy with the OEM tires, especially on the track. Not the best AutoX tires, admittedly, but on the track, they are a thrill. Reasonable life and cost as well, Michelins are just way too expensive.

They will grip, but you will also spend a small fortune. Cup 2 lasts shorter than Supercar 3 and costs quite a bit more(at least in North America). If you don't track your car, I think Supercar 3 or even PS4s will be the better fit as they last longer.
