Dealer service experience.
interesting video by The Track Enthusiast on YouTube. I can definitely relate! I bought my ZLE in June and I've had to take it in a few times for some warranty work. Its been in 3 times for a O2 sensor code that keeps coming up. They replaced both front O2 sensors and I still have issues with it coming on. I had to have the HMI controller replaced when the MyLink screen went black and had to wait for parts, and when they came they never called me to schedule the repair. I had to call them again a month later. I paid the dealer to do a track alignment and found out days after I left that they didn't replace the TTY bolts in the rear that I left for them on the seat. They instead put them in my glove box. Shouldn't the dealer know these procedures? And this is all at Berger Chevy. one of the most recognised Camaro dealers in the country along with Yenko and Nicky of the 60's. Looks like the Cadillac dealer across the street is going to get my business from now on, assuming I have the same results as he explained in the video. What are your thoughts and experiences?

Berger has messed up my car more times than I can count. I’ve recently moved over to the east side of the state for school. I took my car to Feldman in Novi for a simple oil change. Got my car back all scratched up AFTER just getting it paint corrected/ceramic coated! I’m honestly in desperate search for a reputable, trustworthy shop that can actually take care of my car
If anybody in the Novi area knows of a good shop PLEASE let me know!!! |

The Chevy dealer service dept. and body shop is so so around me. They said my mom's tired on her Equinox were find but when I look at them they were pretty darn worn and losing traction in the rain. When someone dented my Coyote the insurance said they do work and closest to me. Boy they did a lousy job. Could easily see where they repaired it. Total joke. TBH I'd trust my local wal-mart over them. I had them replace a battery for me and they were drooling over my car. Even parked it away from everyone else when they got done with it. |

At both dealerships (even during covid protocols) I have nothing but good things to say. Both were thorough in their initial walk through with me to check for any marks, scratches, dings. Upon pick-up, both places did a walk around with me again to make sure everything looked good. Granted, it could be I got lucky with whichever techs did the work for me. But, so far, those are the two places I feel comfortable with both in the southeast Michigan area. |

I took my ZL1 to Genesis Chevrolet on the far east side back in August 2019.
I'm in West Bloomfield so it was a bit out of the way for me. They did my complimentary free oil change a couple of years ago. Also had them change the rear differential fluid at the same time. I felt they did a good job. They have a dedicated mechanic that works only on performance cars. He's there only a couple of days a week so I needed to make an appointment. They don't let anyone else work on performance cars. Seemed to treat my car as "special". I do my own oil changes now but would not hesitate going back to Genesis Chevrolet for service work in the future. Give them a call or email them and see what you think. Tyrolblue67 |

I agree with all the above... Over priced and POOR service.
I've had mine in to fix the side skirts 3 times and they STILL aren't right. Called to get a price on oil/fluid changes in the car. Engine, M6, and rear end was $650+ I bought RP SyncroMax off Amazon. $84 for tranny fluid (retail) and the wanted $299+ to change it... I-N-S-A-N-E! $199 for the rear end and $150 for an oil change. Chevrolet should just get it over with and supply their dealers with a gun and a mask to complete the experience.

Berger Service: 1st oil change (~600 miles) didn’t tighten oil filter and lost about 1Qt of oil... Rear diff service X2. Sadly bucked my fenders during the process but fixed it without question. I’ll cut them slack for that since they were pretty good about this the first time. Went in for an alignment after hitting a damn crater on the road. Took them 3 times to get the damn thing straight. Scuffed up my wheel a little bit but I didn’t make a big fuss about it. Getting the trans fluid flush, got the car back yet again with bucked fenders, AND dimpled and cracked rocker panels which the dealer refused to fix and denied even though they literally told me they cracked. I would’ve taken action but I was planning on installing my side skirts the week following. Berger Collision: Brought the car in for some body work. Car got returned with more scratches and dings. Even managed to deep scratch my drivers/passengers windows. Tried blaming me for it. Eventually meet half way and had to pay for a new windows and to redo my tint for something I never caused. Windows/dents/scratches have been fixed. Within hours of picking up the car to put it in its first winter storage. My drivers window basically explodes. God forbid had I been driving what would’ve happened... Another month of “battle” and I got a new window replacement/install at my house for Christmas ‘18. I was maybe out ~$400 for the window/tint. Feldman Novi: I was getting my pre-storage oil change done and was finally excited to have another dealer complete the job. They worked on the car for about 2ish hours JUST FOR AN OIL CHANGE MIND YOU. That alone was a red alarm for me. After the car was done, I had to take it home and bounce over to work right away. After returning, I saw there was dried up liquid allover the front of the car. I opened up my dash camera and what do you know... the damn tech rubbed the oil hose/washer fluid house all over the front of the car without any protective blanket or mats. The damn “genius” decided it was a great idea to use a power drill with a pad and Walmart polish to “buff it out”. The car was covered in dirt and dust. It was paint corrected and ceramic coated by my brother over the summer. Took the car outside the next day and good god I was FLAMED.... it looked like somebody took some steel wool and rubbed it on the hood/and front bumper. I went back the next day to see what happened. Mind you, I had video proof of everything that went down. Stupid advisor who witnessed the whole thing denied everything that happened. Cut a long story short. After several conversations with the service manager, I was written a nice check to get everything fixed. Sorry for the rant. I’m just fed up af about everything that’s happened |

So far so good at my dealer. I had my top replaced under warranty for the delaminating window.
Replaced top Changed oil Alignment Multipoint inspection When they were done the mechanic sent me a link to a video of the service. Was quite pleased. Car came back unscathed and working. |

I always request NO WASH immediately to the person who 'checks in' the car, as well as the service advisor, regardless of dealership. I have even taped my own "DO NOT WASH" sign to the steering wheel or dash a few times. No issues with dealer-installed swirls/scratches that way But honestly, I never really had a dealer issue. Perhaps the ones I have used are better-than-normal or something, but any issue or requested service or anything like that has been done properly. I still will do most maintenance myself as the time/effort (and cost) isn't worth it usually. Fluid changes, brakes and all that fun stuff is easy enough. |

I'm definitely a DIYer. Once this car is out of Warranty it won't be returning to the dealer. I need to get that check engine light taken care of for good, and I'm hoping to have the driver seat warrantied before the bumper to bumper warranty expires a year from now. I have to reef on the release for it to tip forward. The passenger side doesn't have that problem! I plan on going to the Cadillac dealer in the spring and talking to them. I got a recommended service writer from a buddy who bought his CTSV there last year and has good luck.
