It’s my understanding from the article that even the gas engines in the trucks/SUVs can be affected too not just the Camaros. It’s just like before with my 2010 SS that it’s on a case to case basis that the spring/springs will be replaced if a failure does occur. I don’t agree or disagree with folks that GM should make a mandate/recall for all the V8s that were produced during the defective spring batches time period because the costs would further put GM in the hole. I do understand what folks are saying here though.

I think GM should send a notice to any owner that has the LT1 built during the time frame of the bad valve springs issue. I sure as hell don't want to go BOOM in heavy traffic and be stuck on the road and go thru all the bs and down time at the dealer.
So far i am fine at around 540 miles. Getting harder on it little by little and no probs yet. Look how GM handled the C7 since 2015 with the A8 and rear end warble and cracked wheels with the Grand sports. |

My C6 was trouble free other than the seat controller that is known to break over time. |

I deal with defective parts all the time in what I do. We never take the hit and always fix the issue up front then deal with the vendor after the fact. I’m in medical equipment. GM is an worse functioning company than I thought if they can’t/don’t recoup their losses from vendors/suppliers for repair/replacement of said vendor/suppliers defective parts. |

Manufacturer is probably somewhere in China or Southeast Asia.

It might not be public information but absolutely there are people at GM who know exactly where each and every one of those valve springs came from, the plant location they were produced at, and the date they were received and then stocked and sorted for assembly at Tonowanda

I think it was some generic name like Global Spring or something like that.
