It seems to me there are plenty of valid points in this thread. At the same time, most of them don't matter to me. Warranty does, but I threw that out the window already, HA (though - Magnuson does have a warranty, though, not as comprehensive as Callaway). I don't trust any dealer to work on my car anyways (plenty of times my cars have been damaged while being "repaired" in the past). I don't mean to jump on Callaway, but CSP isn't the only shop that I've seen that had to fix a Callaway car. It was actually a truck, and RPM posted a video on one. It wasn't a crazy deal, but still. For everything it seems they charge, it doesn't quite seem like it's a guarantee you get what you pay for. I've never had their product, so I don't have a horse in this race, but you'd think the cars would leave as perfect as reasonable. I don't get the sense that's the case, but nothing is perfect.

I think the idea is great, though. I think starting with the best foundation for the purpose in mind will result in the best outcome. Starting with the most capable model and tweaking, probably, the weakest part of the car (if you can call the stock LT4 weak), and you could have a great car. IMO - replacing the anemic 1740 with a 2300 (2650 would have been better, but it wasn't available yet, and don't get me going about the incoming 3100) was the best thing that could happen to the ZL1-lineup, and now the engine matches the capability of the chassis. I wish GM would've updated to something like this, but alas - Callaway is the only one who has, and also has GM's blessing. I'm not 100% convinced the value is there, but in terms of warranty, I don't know I can argue past that one.

All that matters is the individual is happy with their purchase. I am with mine, and that's what I think is important.
