ZL1 Headers upgrade sound difference??
Getting mods on Saturday.....Rotofab Big Gulp, ZR1 throttle body, 1 7/8 Headers, and a tune. Outside of the bigger supercharger whine, how much louder will the Headers make the car at idle? under heavy throttle?

I find mine with headers and hi flow cats tied into the stock suitcase muffler to be darn near perfect for me. On start up it scares kids and stray cats and let's you know at wot it's there. At idle it sounds just mean enough to tell you it's ready for business without being annoying and at cruise, no drone and can't really hear it inside the car.
As I said, for me it's about perfect. |

If you keep the cats its still going to be louder, if you get rid of the cats, its going to be VERY loud.

Headers with no cats to the stock suit case here. I love it!

Car is garaged so upon first start up (cold start) it’s pretty loud and after a while it chills out. It puts a kinda obnoxious smile on my face which my wife thinks is hilarious. When cruising with the wife I leave NPP on touring. When solo it opened to track. |

I am honestly doing it for the sound and to get that visceral feeling. Then I realize my warranty will be voided and I just ![]() No pain no gain eh?

I am here to tell you guys if you haven't heard the AWE touring exhaust on your ZL1, you're missing out, it sounds AMAZING! The only downside is that you lose the active exhaust modes. The AWE exhaust makes the ZL1 sound very similar to a GT350 which is quite possibly one of the best sounding cars ever made from the factory. The AWE exhaust exceeded my expectations by a long shot, cant wait to see what it sounds like with headers and green cats soon.

Biggest reason why I don't have AWE is them not having the NPP option.
