if it weren't for my car being loud *maybe once a week, my "neighbors" wouldn't even know an actual person lives here. they can deal with it a few sunday mornings a year. in my defense, i live on you-have-to-floor-it-road. i'm the only user who doesn't follow that rule. county road, no neighborhood, but everyone floors it past my house. i think straight pipe lambo guy traded his car for a gt500. which i also know is going to suck once he figures out the exhaust is removable on domestic cars, too.
i work nights, so im sleeping during the day. loud cars are whatever. there are 2 that wake me up a couple times a week. in fact, that's why i'm awake right now. straight stack triaxle guy ripping all 13 gears apparently full of dirt and towing an abrams tank. sigh.

Sadly things like this are what triggered the smog crackdowns on LA. We were all young and heavy footed. I drove a 67 Mustang with glasspacks but knew when and where to light em up. With so much HP in these cars in the hands of a 16-24 year drivers. Think of you at say 18 only now instead of my 289 Stang I am dropped into a twin turbos 370z or an SS so I give the dedicated ones props for being Drivers it's the ones that drop a big money build as an entry level which is sounding like maybe what's happening to you. If he seems approachable ask him about his car, shit if your like your pretty much family at that moment. After getting a good dose of him talking about his baby sry hey this car is badass, but it's pretty loud to. Honestly we are kind of all geatheads around here. Hopefully he's open to a mutual agreement, like no hot ridding after 10pm or something?
I don't know, it just seems to me we should be able to resolve things like this with everybody happy and the community a little stronger. In a perfect world right,? And to add to the I don't know if we're working to get there or working to get back there. |

Yep. Record him and give the video or photos to law enforcement, they'll fix him right up. Had that problem here a few years ago, ironically with a Gen 5 Camaro, college kids home for summer. Stealing people's flags, lighting up their tires. Got good video and handed it to the sheriffs, problem solved...

Get's me rock hard when some douche-bag wakes me up. I put on a Flight of the Navigtator VHS tape, start dancing, pop some Flintstones vitamins and chug vodka. It's. Just... that cool.

When it comes to recordings, there has to be a chain of custody maintained, and very seldom can it actually be done. For example, with dash cams, you absolutely can NOT touch the footage in the camera in any way - you have to surrender the entire thing to the police so they can establish chain of custody of the content. I've been down this road, so I understand where many limitations kick in. Now... On the other hand... If you happen to live in a more rural area and have any sort of relationship with one or more of the local police, they would likely be willing to at least give the guy a lot of attitude and keep an eye on him around town. Basically, they wouldn't be able to do anything directly, but they can bust him for trivial stuff and make his life difficult... All within the limits of the law, of course. I've been down this road as well. My town is patrolled by State Police (we really don't have a local force) and they don't take any attitude from anyone that they don't want to. I stopped in to Town Hall one day to chat with whomever was there about some behavior in my neighborhood that I thought was a little questionable. One of the officers gave me his cell number along with directions on how to reach out the next time I saw it happening. One call, one visit to my neighborhood, problem solved. Even though they're State Police, their view is "not in MY town" because they actually live where they serve. |
