Fabric seats in an SS would make it a 1SS and might be worth checking out. The LT1 sounds like a good choice too.

There is a decked out 2017 SS2 at my dealer. It is buy as it with no warranty and no way you could give me another car with a A8 auto. Shame as i would love another C7.

They are way up also as are GT's. Took a ride in that GT350 a few days ago and all i can say is yikes. It was a 2017 and that thing sounds so good and pulls great. It held the road much better than my modded C6 that would always break loose from a roll.

I’ve found a few decent deals on the trader in your area.

A ‘19 1SS w/ 1100 miles for $38K

Of course I recommend the LT1. I have owned a 2016 M6 2SS, an '18 A10 ZL1 and now a loaded M6 LT1. It is my favorite car ever after my first real car, a '65 Falcon with a Winsor 351 with a top loader I built myself when I was 17.

The LT1 handles and stops every bit as good as an SS with tires, but that performance will not last on a track after a lap or two if you are driving at 8/10s. So the LT1 could be a fun car at a track day if you want the experience. But not if you are serious.

The LT1 is almost exactly like a 1SS except for the track cooling and rear Brembos. As mentioned the LT1 has the simpler dash display. I like it, the SS/ZL1 display is very cool. But I like the simplicity of the LT dash. Alot of the cool stuff is there, but you have to look for it.

Thread describing the LT1/1SS differences.

And also the LT1 is the lightest V8 Camaro. My M6 has already run 12.106@116.05 in +220 DA Air. All I have is a Rotofab dry and DRs. The A10 will be faster.

I also have a set of 1LE replica wheels. I am mounting a set of Pilot Supersports for the Summer and the LT1 comes with free winter tires and wheels.

I loaded up mine with Bose, NPP, Recaros, and a sunroof. If the 1SS had the Bose option I might have went with a 1SS. But I am not a fan of rear spoilers that are not all that effective, weight and complexity I do not need. But the SS is one of the best track car values on the planet.

If you get an LT1 OP be sure to get NPP, it makes the car. And somehow (at least to me) Chevy made the exhaust louder when the flaps open on the 19s and up and that horrble sound tube is gone. Drive one.

I won't ever track it just drive in heavy traffic 99% of the time. The NPP was a joke in my 2019 C7 as i was used to headers and no CATs in my modded C6. I like loud. Car would get a after market exhaust right away.

There is a new LT1 A10 auto with non NNP exhaust and no options for $35k. I really don't want the NPP since i plan a loud after market exhaust soon after i get the car.

Not sure i want RED HOT for the color. But prices seems ok and would like to mod it up to around 500hp to the crank. Range said they are working on a device for the A10 auto. I still have my Range device from my 2019 A8 C7. Would rather have the new wild cherry tint coat.

Already Said

Someone has probably already said this, but the new Mustang GT is still only "alright". I drove several just for kicks including a Bullitt with a little more HP and as you probably guessed, I was not impressed. You would most assuredly love a newer SS Camaro. Good luck with your choice.

I just got a new LT1 this weekend. Only drove it home 10 miles from the dealer but already it seems to drive much better than my new C7 Vette did. Was gonna get some miles on it Sunday but it rained so did some Zaino on it.

I concur with 18 or 19 SS 1LE. I like the ZL1 but you will rarely use the extra power and the MPG is lower. Got my used 2017 SS two years ago and absolutely love it.

Did you mean to say "he could find an extremely high mileage example of this car with no Recaro seats or diff cooler for $9K less"?

Because what you said isn't reality.
