2018 Garnett Red Tintcoat A10 CAI +TUNE

Any opinions appreciated..... I have a 2018 ZL1 A10. Looking for a small horsepower boost, without getting deep into the internals of the engine. Companies like Rotofab are claiming a 26hp gain with no other mods...Is this true? I have seen opinions that say without a tune, there will be 0 power/torque gain.

If I decide to go with the CAI and a tune, which tune would be recommended? Assuming that I am not tracking the car, or driving it any hard all the time, (once and a while the occasional street race if it is presented to me, and usually from a roll on the highway) is it detrimental to the engine? Will it be more prone to breaking down? I also have a aftermarket (bumper to bumper) equivalent warranty, with a (legitimate repair shop) mechanic who will fix any problems and told me the warranty will pay for repairs most of the time without checking onto any mods, as he will report in a necessary way for me.

Lastly, how much power/torque is reasonable to expect from the CAI and tune together?

The CAI, doesn't require a tune. The minute you have the car tuned, your power train warranty is out the window!

You are saying the CAI will add power without a tune?

I have a repair shop who will fix this under (aftermarket) warranty.....

Will a CAI and tune make the car more prone to breakdowns? Assuming it is not driven hard all the time?

5-10 at the wheel with no tune. If you don’t care about warranty , tune it. I think I picked up about 28rwhp when I first put my rotofab on and a tune.

Tuning it will make driveability much better as long as you have a good tuner... an experienced tuner is key!

I just noticed your in NJ too, where in NJ are you?

The first mods I did were RotoFab CAI and Tony M ported TB, no tune and based hp at 602 from the 550 start. Biggest deal was a little more pep, but also much quicker throttle response that I noticed ( at that was no tune ).

GM offers Cai and headers. It will not void warranty

A tune will jeopardize your power train warranty. A rotofab will add very minimal HP and you don’t need a tune to add one.

GM does not offer a CAI and Headers that dont require tuning and warranty loss that I am aware of. they do offer a CAI for the SS and headers for both but no ZL1 intake or no-tune headers (no such thing).

I added a rotofab and PTB and was at 577 rwhp before I did the pulley and a tune later on......it didnt void my warranty.
