There's a Chevrolet dealership about 4 miles from my house and they must be doing pretty good in sales on the LT1 as they have just sold 3 and have have 4 on there lot.

All 1LEs (except the SSes) have RS packages, meaning they have the same headlights as the LT1 on my signature. REF: https://www.callawaycars.com/homepag...ay-c18-camaro/

Looks like an lt1 hood vent. No splitter or satin hood wrap so its not a v6 or i4 1le.

Plain Jane inexpensive V8 Camaro, I disagree, why would you buy a loaded up 4 banger or V6 camaro for the same money as a LT1, doesnt make any sense considering most camaro people are performance people.

You've just stated the reason why the Mustang outsells Camaro by a wide margin.

You can't sell cars you don't have and if you look on Autotrader, for every Camaro for sale there are 3 times more Chargers/Challengers/Mustangs. They just build more cars and offer bigger incentives. GM seems more content with building fewer cars but offering fewer incentives. |

I was talking to another guy recently who was trying to find a new SS1LE in a certain color with a PDR. There are hardly any out there, you either have to order one or likely have to buy out of state. Using Autotrader as an example. If you want a V8 2020/2021 Camaro with a manual transmission in either 1SS or 2SS trim there are 111 for sale in the entire country. So if you want a specific color and option package good luck. Does not matter how much you advertise, and most Americans are not going to order a car and wait a few months to get a car. |

The issue there is if you've designed a product for Right handers and it isn't selling, can you sell cars to Left handers with a cool TV commercial with Vin Diesel. If you think you can, the advertising might help. Problem is the Camaro is a very focused car. And as pointed out in an earlier post, why would you buy an L4 or V6 car when you could get a V8 because Camaro buyers are performance biased. Well what if I don't want a "sports/muscle/performance" car and just want a nice looking coupe that gets good gas mileage and I can drive comfortably? That buyer won't make the tradeoffs that the performance buyer clearly does simply based on the anger that comes out when we discuss this topic. For example, does a crappy size trunk matter when you bought the car based on performance? Probably very little. When you are shopping for a cool car to drive around every day and you go look at the bigger trunks in a Stilantos or Ford it at a mimimum matters a bit more.

Ford sells a buttload of Ecoboost Mustangs and Dodge the v6 and 5.8l v8 when anyone with two braincells would buy the 5.0 or 6.4l engines. except they don't. |

The Camaro doesn’t sell because it’s a parts bin special that doesn’t stand out. It excels because the chassis is excellent. Nothing about it stands out, unless you know what to look for. It doesn’t make the most horsepower. It doesn’t have some flat plane crank or dct. It doesn’t have great names like Hellcat or Mach 1. GM dumped out the parts box and ignored everything people didn’t like. Then they rolled out the same variants and didn’t do anything to keep them competitive in the market place. They put in the minimum effort and are getting minimum results. It really shouldn’t surprise anyone.
