I believe Josh was just saying your valve covers were likely the issue because you are the only one I know of that has ever had a issue with a MM setup...and I have seen several of them installed on different setups ranging from gen 3 LT1, gen 3 LS1, and LT4 stuff.

So yea if you run SE valve covers, then you might need to put a restrictor in-line so the CC(regardless of brand) doesn't fill with oil.

Exactly right King. That discussion without bringing up the valve covers seemed like it overlooked an important point.

No one knew the new MM catch can was designed differently which is why there was issues, the previous model didn't have issues with the same valve covers.


I didn't install it, a shop did. No one knew. The only other one they did with the newly designed can was a fully built z06 with big cam which didnt have the issue (same covers).

I have the new MM catch can as well. I also have a big cam. No issues. The valve covers were a difference, and just felt like it needed to be brought up for discussion.

Yeah there's no issues with a cam, stock cam is a different story.

Everything is relative so "no issues" doesn't really mean anything. How does your blower lid look when removed? Is there oil blowby getting past the can? That's the real test - as well as inspection of the valves for coking
