Maybe smell it at the oil fill port after warmup, if there's significant fuel in there you would get a good whiff vapor coming off the hot valvetrain.
The gas smell is very noticeable. Smelled the dipstick on our 3 other cars, and not a hint of gas. I believe the car is running rich. NPP exhaust tips get very dark quickly if I don’t clean them on every wash. Also noticed that the exhaust has been cackling more than usual, so there is fuel detonating in the exhaust. Going to bring it to dealer and get it checked out. I was told on the phone if they can’t find anything wrong with it, they’d open a TAC (I think is what he said) case with GM about it.

Take a wiff, you'd know... I ALWAYS smell my oil for this exact reason...

If your oil level has increased at ALL, get it checked, oil level should never increase... (hopefully not decrease either but certainly not increase)... The extra fluid is coming from somewhere... And it shouldn't be...

Might be a leaky injector. Definitely take it in.

Is it okay to drive it to the dealer or do I need to get it towed? 31 miles away. Will definitely baby it.

what till you run full E! you can really smell it in the oil and pretty much all you catch in the can.

I go between 40 or 50% on oil changes.

Agreed. My guess is there is no problem. Fuel oder is not uncommon at all, especially on a DI engine. These motors are tuned pig rich in factory form. But no down side to letting the dealer take a look. Keep us posted.

True! I checked mine today and the oil had a faint smell of gasoline mixed in the oil and it has almost 15,000 miles now.

I kept a pint from my oil change & this discussion had me take a whiff. Nothing really bad, very slight gaseous odor. Had 2,200miles on it providing the previous owner didn’t do the 500/ 1,500 services.

Mine is not faint. It’s very noticeable that it’s gasoline. Had two people also check to make sure I’m not crazy.

Definitely not a slight odor on mine. You can tell right away it’s gas. I’ll keep everyone updated

Talked to the ZL1 specialist at the dealer. He said he didn’t smell gas on the dipstick, just kind of smelled like I was using high octane fuel (only 93 pump gas). He had 7 other techs smell it. 50% of them smelled gas on it. Took a sample of the oil and said it was not diluted. Dipstick measures full on a cold engine start, 50% on the hashes on the dipstick after warming up to temperatures and letting it sit for 5 minutes. Opened a TAC case with GM, and said to monitor oil levels after letting the car warm to temperature and letting it sit for 5 minutes. If level increases, come back. Said he works on a 2013 ZL1 that smells exactly the same. Otherwise did other tests and found everything to be normal. Said it was good to bring it in and important to get the next oil change there so they can look at it further, as I only have ~700 miles on my current oil change. Otherwise, all good to go!
