stock lt1 fuel system is good for about 550 rwhp on 93 octane, in a F/I application. Literally most out of the box supercharger kits max out the fuel system, right off the bat. some even exceed it. The limits of the LT4 fuel system is about 650 rwhp.

Ted Jannetty told me not to under any circumstance to try and make more than 560- 575 hp on the stock SS fuel system, he said you are just asking for trouble and need to upgrade the fuel system.

You very well could and are just fine since you are on premium 98 in Australia. The point that makes the OP stand no chance of being ok with the LT1 fuel system is he wants to run E85, which requires more volume of fuel than the LT1 system can handle.

Almost all supercharger companies entry level kits put the stock LT1 fuel system right at or close to the limits on US 93 octane as Dan pointed out.
Higher octane gasoline raises the fuel headroom ceiling. So for example if you ran ms109 on the stock fuel system you could likely push close to 700whp. The caveat is ms109 is roughly 7.00+ a gallon which is pricey to run in a street car. The Op inquired about E85 which is why I posted what I did. While E85 offers more octane and cooling properties then even ms109, it also requires 30% more volume to equal the burn rate of gasoline...and it also requires a lot more demand from the fuel system.

My bad, Im not too familiar with fuel demands on E85 (its not all that popular here in Australia and not as available). So yes I can see why the LT1 system would be maxed out as others mentioned.

As a matter of interest, if I wanted to improve fuelling ... which part is biggest the restriction in the LT1? Is it the LPFP, HPFP or injectors? Or do they all run out of capacity at about the same level? Im assuming that for increases I'd need to do all components, but not sure if thats the case?

Just on E85 ... here in Aus, U98 is currently $1.39/L. E85 yesterday was $1.69/L.

In Your money thats $3.80/gallon for U98, and $4.70/gallon for E85.
So I guess people arent as keen on E85 due to efficiency & cost, hence its not as readily available....

Yea e85 burns through fuel a lot faster, but it is considerably cheaper than 93 in most places in the States so it's definitely worth it if available.

Yep. It is currently 1.77 per gal. right down the street from me and comes in around E78-80. That is why I spent the money on fueling to be able to run a blend of it. It still ends up costing less to run then 93 even with the mileage hit. Also If you mix it around E50-E60(101-103octane) you get a little bit better fuel mileage then running it straight.
