msd intake ports look terrible
is this normal? every port needs touched up, some have huge gaps coinciding with bulging material into the runner. wtf. not gonna lie, i expected more than this.

Those are the spots I smoothed out. Left everything else alone.
I don’t remember them looking that bad but I do remember having the same reaction when opening the box and instantly walking towards the compressor. Lol

I went to Holley and had a look, the webpage photo is not like that at all. States you can easily port to match but it’s pretty smooth in photo

Not for plastic LMAO...all you need is a sandroll cartridge and a dremel.

i reused the stock intake tube. it proved to be a real pain in ass. the tb adapter pushed the tb out just far enough to put the tube in a bind when connected to the air box. ended up trimming the tube. i guess i'll concede and put the rotofab tube on soon.

I have a dremel that has ported a few sets of exhaust manifolds (L67 3800 supercharged engines years ago) along with several other things such as gutting and modifying stock intake boxes. I would say it's a case of "they don't make things like they use to".

to be fair, the dremel last saw what i would call heavy use back in 1994 cleaning up a set of cyl heads. it has been used a lot since then but very small jobs.
