2019 ZL1 LT4 HP stock fuel system
Hi, i have been scouring the forums trying to pinpoint an accurate answer to this question. What is the max rwhp you can achieve on stock fuel system, no cam or meth. I see numbers saying 680 max, 720 and even up to 740 on some videos on you tube. Most people are adding cams and meth.
Here is what is going in the 2019 ZL1 in 2 weeks, some parts already have. Magnuson 2650 blower Rotofab Air Intake (already on car) Kooks 2" headers w green cats Borla ATAK cat back (already on car) Nick Williams 103mm throttle body Mighty Mouse Catch Can Does anyone have a similar setup like this without a cam and meth that has dyno numbers? Basically i want to keep the driveability good and still make decent power. Magnuson says that 720rwhp is basically what they shoot for without a cam/meth before running out of fuel. And if i was too just add meth, no cam what kind of numbers could i be looking at? |

Do you know if those are dynojet or mustang (or similar dynamic load) numbers?
From a mustang dyno world I'd say mid-high 600's is it, on dynojet that'd be around 60 HP more. This might be the cause for your 680-720 range.

According to magnuson, they are saying 720 is a good safe sweet spot at I believe 15psi on stock fuel, no cam/meth but was hoping for some real world readings from others with my setup. |

Forgetting the one post a CAM and other TBDs at the moment...
680-720 dynojet to me means ~620-660 worst case on a load dyno. That is in the ball park. What should be important to you are your individual gains. Do it without methanol and see how it feels. Meth could be easily added later without disturbing anything but the tune and a little install time. If you are just going for numbers you will never be happy till you do everything LOL.

It’s going in the shop in about 2 weeks so we’ll see how goes. 120rwhp gain over stock should be good. I’m sure I’ll feel
The difference especially with the Maggie 2650. |

From what I've seen 730-745 is possible with 5% lower at around 16ish psi on stock fueling which sounds really nice with the additional cooling and recovery that comes with the 2650 as well. I'm hoping to do the exact setup your doing in the near future so will be looking forward to your results

You can get over 700 on the stock fuel system on just about any dyno. Keep in mind dynos can vary by 10% or maybe even more. So you really need to take everything you read with a grain of salt. We usually recommend a cam first to get past that 750 mark and then a low side to get past that 850 mark.
Meth is the wild card. You can skip them both if you run enough meth. For example we tuned our shop car with a 2650 on 93 first. The car has a cam and a DSX low side. We made about 800 to the wheels but the injectors were about maxed out. Adding meth gave us enough fuel to consider adding some serious E. But, I think we'll just add more boost instead and break 1000 |

Depends on the fuel used. On MS109 you should be able to get to 800whp even on the stock cam. On 93 I would say 700ish. If you did +30 injectors, LPE DI pump, Aux low side, you likely could run pump E 85 to 800+. You can buy a lot of MS109 for 4k...
On my Brothers C7Z we have stock injectors, Cordes stage 2 cam, LPE DI pump, JMS booster on the low side, Maggie 2300 @ 13.5psi. Its at the fuel limits on E40, mainly low side. Going to swap to FIC +30 injectors and a ZR1 low side pump and how much E it will take. MS109 would save a lot of cost up front but depending on how much you drive the car it could cost more down the road.

There’s a local tuner here who offers flex tuning for basic bolt on cars all the way up to full builds. I’ve seen 692whp stock blower out of the stock fuel system on E50 (Dynojet baseline on that car was 570whp on 91 pump stock blower) I know Magnuson states in their videos 720-730 but there was another user on here who was having a ton of issues trying to recreate their claims when he went to the 2650....that said if 690whp is achievable on e50 I’d think 93pump would allow for a few more ponies with it being easier for the fuel system to pump.

True, just depends on what he plans on doing with the car. I kept going back and forth and finally decided to do a 93 tune and a MS109 tune. 99% of the time the MS109 will only be on track days which for me is 1 or 2 a year. At those power levels, traction issues are evident and its why i chose that route for the street. Probably same reason i chose not to do the larger injectors. Just dont see the need for the extra power on the street. For me was the extra risk of a meth pump leaking or failing worth it for the few times a year that i want the extra power? For me no, so MS109 works. Same answer i gave myself for going to the higher HP builds of 1000rwhp or more. We all know at this level and above you start worrying about trans, axles, etc...
