Phone mount for track and daily use
Ive been trying to research what phone mounts would be best for me, and I see the proclip but the Scosche Charge 3 mount really caught my eye.
I see that its not a clip but a strong magnet and was wondering if anyone has used that out on track as a holder for the phone, and if the magnet was strong enough for the job. Its an attractive mount since it charges as it holds for the same price as a proclip.

I use the proclip with the charging cable just leave it plugged in always. I love it I do feel that it vibrates a little but the roads here are terrible so could just be that

Thanks for the input, the proclip is a serious mount!

I picked up the pro clip magnet mount as well but my passengers kept knocking the phone off. And I don't use phone cases on my sleek and sexy nights anyway so it was an all around inconvenience. Rather than go back and order the cradle I found a little vent mount which I have seen at several auto stores. I popped the back off and inside is metal so it does the job and it does it well.
On another note separate from and prior to this mod I also put double sided gorilla tape on the mounts snap vehicle attachment points. Noticed I would have to adjust from time to time most likely due to the Texas heat wearing the adhesive out from the constant adjustments. |

Proclip has been pretty solid for me.
Yes I know its on the wrong side, so is the steering wheel. |

I like the positioning of the ProClip, but I can't get mine to stay tightened.
I know it's a ProClip design issue, because the one in my wife and daughters car does the same thing. I have a RAM X-Mount I used in my old car for track days...haven't thought about it for the Camaro.

This works for me. Magnet is pretty strong. I use the thin metal plate that came with it inside my phone case. Holds well.
