That's really interesting. I had them on my 96 Corvette that I daily-drove and autocrossed for several years, and they never made a peep. Not once. FWIW, I liked them for those duties and that car was genuinely fast (like approaching ZL1 acceleration) and had lots of grip (315 BFG Rivals or Hoosier A7s front and rear). So although it was quite a bit lighter than a 1LE, it was generating serious speed and grip and the brakes were a lot smaller. They never once faded, even on the events where we had 80mph sections feeding into U-turns and I was running every 5 minutes. I definitely would not use them for track duty, though.

Mine have been quiet for 15k miles. They squeal a little when stopping in reverse coming out of the garage, but never going fwd.

If you didn't bed them in you may need to do a bed-in procedure, usually repeated stops from different speeds, I'm not sure what exactly for Z26.

Could also be no grease between back of pads and caliper pistons, or anywhere the metal backing plate touches.

This is why i do my own work. Too easy for a parts changer to throw in the new pads and leave the supplied anti squeal grease in the box.

Definitely agree on the proper bedding in procedure.... as i recall the instructions on how to do this were included in the box also.. but easy to find...a lot of people think they have warped rotors or poor braking performance when they actually just need to this ....

Jay, you will have a hard time out driving the Z26 pads in the street. I’ve had them for almost 10k miles and really like the lack of dust. The dust that does come off the pads doesn’t seem to stick as much either. One caveat- they squeak like mad on backing out of the garage in the morning, but once through that they are quiet the rest of the day. (sorry neighbors, it’s actually worse than the exhaust explosion in the morning �� lol ).

Do you just have the pads and not the drilled slotted rotors? I'd get new rotors either way. Not a fan of resurfacing rotors. I've seen a few videos that say the drilled slotted rotors make your peddle feel like the rotors are warped. A lot of great feedback on this thread. I'm going to keep the OEM pads until they need to be replaced, then I'll decide what to do. I'm on the fence now. Spent the day cruising up in Door County yesterday so I need to go clean my wheels today. :-)

Ditto. Also I think the springy-dingy "hardware" is very easy to mangle if not installed carefully. I find this the most tedious bit of replacing pads. The "springs" are actually thin metal tabs.

Ive had Powerstops on for the last 100,00 miles.. no squeal, no irritation, near zero dust. Set of fronts coming in next week - rotors and pads , to go on. Bed them in, happy man.
