Remove bolt on mods before selling?

I am tossing around the idea of selling my immaculate 5k mile 2018 1LE.
I bought it 100% stock and added a Rotofab and a Borla ATAK Npp cat back.

Is is generally better to put back to stock and sell the mods separately?
How would the Rotofab/Borla help or hurt a sale price?

Thanks

They won't hurt the sale, but they won't help either.

Put the stock parts back on and sell your parts. They will be easy to sell. Been there done this.

Right or wrong, many buyers won’t consider a modded car because they think the car will have been abused - and even if they’re OK with the mods, you won’t get any more money for them. Reinstall the stock parts, and sell the mod parts separately - you’ll net more money anyway.

Agreed with the above, install stock parts and sell the mods separately.

By the way, absolutely none of my business, but curious as to why you are selling it. I couldn't afford a new 1LE and had to settle for a bare bones zero options 2020 LT1, God knows I wanted that 1LE, but the $10K difference would have killed me.

Buying a used car, I prefer it to be stock than modded. I agree with there being an assumption that the car was potentially abused or raced if it has mods.

If you do decide to return to stock, I may buy the Rotofab from you depending how much you are selling it for. I see that you are in Georgia too.

Yes install the stock parts before you trade in or sell outright. The intake shouldn’t be a problem but you may run into an issue with the stock exhaust system and might have to take it to a muffler shop since you cut off the stock muffler. Maybe not though. Good luck!

I think those are tasteful mods. Wouldn’t dissuade me from buying at all.

I just sold my car and am putting it back to stock. I would return it and get some money out of mods cuz like others have said it usually doesn't help the sale and on a pristine 1LE I think the purests out there will appreciate it being stock.

I was just tossing around the idea, because the prices have gone up.
Decided not to sell it.......I just love this car .

+1

Additionally, many buyers are afraid of who did the mod and if they were half assed. Mods only come in two categories for buyers (1) professionally installed (2) all others. I’d put it back to stock.

Selling it out right to an enthusiast you may gain by keeping the mods on, or get your full asking price. A large percentage of us want or like the mods. If you trade it in, take the mods off. Dealers, Carvana, Car Max, etc. could care less about mods and may even deduct or not take your car due to the mods.

In your specific situation, it could be a total wash. Most folks have no idea what a CAI is. In the world of performance / sport / muscle cars, folks are either still completely clueless or have at least a reasonable understanding. Either way, the number of people that would push back for that mod would seemingly be very low.

On the exhaust, you simply can't return it to stock because you had to cut the muffler off to install the aftermarket one. So, anyone that's genuinely concerned about being completely stock will know because they will look and see the sleeves used to reinstall the factory exhaust.

The one thing that -could- throw a wrench in the works would be leaving the aftermarket exhaust on and people not liking the sound. The only way to test that out would be to do nothing, advertise, and see what prospective buyers think. If the response is great, leave and include the original parts. If the response is bad, swap the exhaust back and include the aftermarket muffler. Offer a small discount (less than what you could sell it for) if they don't want it.

Put it back to stock.

When you Mod a car, if you have to find a buyer who wants those Mods.
