APEX Pro Track Coach

Does anyone have one of these? My friend was showing me his at the track the other day. It is pretty neat.

Just bought one. I love the Cosworth toolbox for analyzing PDR vids, but Apex has a few strengths that pushed me over the edge. My friends use them, so I was already familiar.
- Analyze your data on your phone between sessions. It’s super convenient, right on the phone.
- compare data with faster drivers. You can airdrop session files right then and there, and can overlay their traces on your data super easily.
- “Grip gauge”. I’ve driven with it before and it’s a good way to ‘keep you honest’, as it’ll let you know if you’re not pushing hard enough.
- Reliable. I like easy, and it’s been very stable and notable lack of bugs from what I’ve witnessed.
-Also, the owner (Andrew) is very responsive to emails and puts on webinars to help you get up to speed on how to get max benefit.

Nice, thanks! Mine should be here soon before the next track day. I’m excited. I signed up for the new user webinar.

I bought one of these about 3 years ago, and have loved it. Then about 8 months ago, it just stopped working, would not calibrate, and just barely took a charge. So I called them up expecting to get an update or potentially pay to get it fixed. Not only did they "Give" me a free replacement, they overnighted it, with a prepaid, return envelope for my old one. These guys are first class all the way.

How well does the OBD2 adapter work with the app on the Gen6 Camaros? Can it find all of the normal channels, speed, RPM, throttle? What about brake pressure?

It is pricey for sure, but I actually was trying to get a few other friends to go in on one unit, because its not tied down to any specific vehicle or person, it can go from one car to another, all you do is attach to the windshield, download the app and your good to go. But everybody wanted me to front the money and gamble on whether its worth it. Its definitely worth it, and I told my buddies to buy their own, or I would rent it to them for one session at 50 bucks a pop, which I have done a few times.

I've been using racechrono pro with a garmin glo2 GPS and I get TERRIBLE position estimation on the track map - my lap times have been worthless. Is the apex pro really that precise in position on the track to give accurate lap times?

I'll let you know in a couple weeks. Mine just came in today. I was using the TrackAddict app with my iphone and the position was perfect. I also had a transponder in my car from the race track and the lap times between their machine and my app were like within the same second.

I just came across this thread today and I'm close to pulling the trigger on one of these already. It seems exactly what I'm looking for.

Well, I can tell you that the times on my PDR are usually identical as the APEX PRO

I'll probably pick one of these up before my next track day in a month or two. Exactly what I'm looking for.
