You're talking about a ~7lb weigh reduction. This would be more of a benefit for airflow for track use. I think that's why it was removed on the GT4.R.

Is the fender more flexible with out it.. Anyone notice if it moves around a lot?

You could get the same weight reduction from a giant poop before the track day...
 if you remove that, wouldn't a minor fender bender end up being a big one?
