I can see various random accessories being more reliable on the RCF... like the AC and water pump. Although I got a 2009 Malibu to 250,000 miles without any failures. As far as Lexus goes I doubt the reliability of an under-stressed engine with soft shift tuning will translate to a properly driven sports car with a 7,300RPM redline :/

The only thing more luxurious about the Lexus is the interior design and materials - the car rides rougher than the Camaro, has the worst infotainment system ever created (that includes old-timey ones with buttons on the side of the screen) and is overall a hodge-podge of 3 platforms welded together. That interior is really awesome though, better than whatever BMW and MB are doing these days (minus the electronics unfortunately). The Camaro is based on a Cadillac designed to beat BMW as a driver's car - and both cars succeed at it I think.

I would go for a used LC500 if I wanted a cool GT car with an NA V8. The electronics are still crap - but in this case the design, chassis and interior are worth it.

Lexus/Toyotas are no better than any other cars. Remember few people drive those cars hard. My mother had a Toyota that just had constant issues. It became to non dependable with less than 80k miles. She got rid of it and never looked back.

Not to be driven as stolen, but it is built to be driven on a track.

to answer the op question about a 6g camaro lasting that long...im sure it's possible. in my opinion, not probable without at least one major powertrain part failure. not to mention all of the electronic stuff on modern cars. i think the days of 300k mile gm products ended with the pre 2014 pickup trucks. i certainly would not buy a camaro with the intention of it lasting much over 175k without major work.

im a hillbilly, i will always have old american vehicles around. that way when my new cars won't start because they have "low voltage" or are immobilized because they need a software update...i can still get where i need to go.

I bet the Lexus has more Electronics than the Camaro. Just more stuff to go wrong.

It's a luxury car, of course it will have more bells and whistles.

They help when they work but yeah, in a long run they can have issues.
