Open it's a good deal louder and I'm sure they'll sound epic with long tubes.
Does anyone know if the valves will stay closed at wide open throttle?

It seems that every system that has valves, including the stock system, open up when the throttle is that maximum. I know that’s the case for the Borla system I bought two years ago.

It would be great if the valves could stay closed without blowing up the mufflers at the track, so that the decibel level would stay under stricter track limits that have a 95 or 92 decimal max. Not to mention that if it’s all the same sound level at WOT, it partly defeats the purpose of the valves IMO.

Is it Cat back and/or axle back?

How many modes or sound levels will there be? 2, 3 or 4?
The difference in the 2 modes Borla Jas is not very significant, so I’d like to know if the difference in volume is more differentiated with Corsa

Also any word on pricing?

The valves open when full throttle regardless of which brand. There is only 2 sound modes which are open and closed no in-between. Supposedly it has the most difference out of any exhaust with valves open vs closed. Corsa claims it's a 12db difference. Price varies but most hover around 2k. Cheapest I've found was at Complete Street Performance and they had it for 1650 for polished tips and 1800 for black tips. You can buy it as just an axle back or do their full catback with their double x-pipe. They have a 4 week lead time if you plan on ordering one now.

How do you account for settings in the car of Tour/Sport/Track? That's 3, 4 if you count "stealth".

I think track is the only mode where the valves stay open. Cruising in tour and sport is going to sound the same because even in sport the valves will close on you so I consider them pretty much the same. This is why most people pull the fuse that way they stay open permanently.

Thanks for the info!

Website also says NPP Valve Axle-Back (Part # 14789) is similar to Xtreme with valves open, Sport when closed, so I'm not sure how that's a 12Db difference they claim, though I've only owned Corsa Sport, never the Extreme.

I'm not sure if the valves open fully with the stock OEM exhaust when in stealth mode, I saw a picture of a guy who tried to track his car in stealth mode to stay under the max Db level of the track and he blew up the mufflers and rear bumper of his car.
But the Borla system definitely does open valves all the way. And judging by the description Corsa uses, saying that the valves are "active" I would think you are right about the valves opening all the way at WOT with the Corsa system.

I may just go with Corsa Sport so I'll get that reduced volume level at WOT.

With the Borla system both Stealth and Touring mode are the same level of quiet and then both Sport and Track mode are same level of loud.

Just a heads up to help others. I reached out to Corsa to see the difference between the NPP and Non NPP. The NPP with valves open is similar to their Sport axleback in terms of loudness. It is not going to be as loud as the Xtreme version. It is quieter and more refined when matched with headers. They do use sound dampening in their NPP version. Hope this helps!

How the valves open and closed is determined by the FSCM controller in the car not the exhaust. The NPP valves can be tuned to open or close however you want in all modes.

I have mine tuned as follows:

Touring- closed at start up and in all gears under 4k rpm

Sport- closed at startup and In all gears under 3k rpm

Track- open at start and all gears 1-6, closed gears 7-8.

Snow/Ice- closed all conditions

I just put on the Borla ATAK Cat-back (carbon fiber tips) with NPP and it SCREAMS. Absolutely sounds amazing - night and day difference over stock. Highly recommended. As far as sound goes with the valves, there is appreciable difference bwetween sport and touring.

How did you tune the FSCM?

With Hptuners. It cost 1 credit(50.00) to license the FSCM.

Wow, it would be awesome to reconfigure the NPP action based on my sound needs. I’m tuned and have hoTuners, I guess I’ll have to play around with it and see how to license the FSCM.
