Oil Analyzers makes Blackstone look like high schoolers. Fuel dilution results for Blackstone have been proven inaccurate on many occasions

If there is aluminum particulate in the oil it will show up in the analysis

I always find metal flakes in my oil filters. Very small amounts. Have seen it on the dipstick too. These are motors with less than 5000 miles on them.

While it makes you think of the worse. It is most likely normal.

Following the links for automotive oil test kits, it appears that it is actually Amsoil that actually does the testing. I have been a Blackstone user for years but had a sample come back "fine" that was from a hurt motor and then have now lost my latest sample I sent in. May give these guys a try.

Being new to the ZL1 world....are there issues with early production 18 production cars that one should be wary of?

If it's break-in it may be normal

All the more reason to change oil early and often

For the record, the car's mileage interval for the tested oil was 4000-7000.

No.

The 6th gen ZL1 was new for 2017, not 2018. Also, the LT4 engine was developed before it was adapted for the ZL1. Lastly, the failed oil pumps have failed in fracture, not from wear that may show up in oil over time.
