Powertrain warranty
Is the ZLE covered for track use for the duration of the powertrain warranty or just the initial bumper-to-bumper segment? I'm assuming the full 5yr or 60k miles.
Thx |

The way I read it is its covered under the factory warranty but my extended warranty reads as not covered for race use.

Per Chevy/GM - not covered for, "...Misuse of the vehicle such as driving over curbs, overloading, racing, or other competition...."
You're not covered for actual racing or competitive events. If you go to a HPDE, that's a driving school and you're covered. |

Tracking is different than wheel to wheel racing.

Here's an article that has quoted Al O stating if your car is 100% stock and you go track it, they'll honor the warranty. With a clarification on track day.

Yes, both are pushing to the limit. However, tracking is pushing yourself and your car to the limit; racing is a competition event between individuals and cars. In those circumstances, GM does not want to finance the wear and tear or repeated racing. This is a track car, not a race car. So their position makes sense. Racing and tracking are very different things, they are only similar in that both situations have cars going fast. |
