I think now days most of the fast 6th gen builders and tuners like Pray and GPI say 2", whether it be FI, H/C, or FBO. I know a lot of guys here have a lot of experience and like to share that, but at the end of the day you might as well go with the setup proven to make more power especially when the price difference is negligible.

Learn from the past.
This is exactly what I was going to say. This same topic was beat to death 10+ years ago with people in the GEN4 Fbody LS1 community arguing about which was better headers for those cars. Ones 1.75" or 1.875" primaries. Other than a little better clearance in the engine bay and slight cost savings there no benefits to the smaller header. Even on a mostly stock car. From everything I've seen this seems to be true for the LT1 as well. And even if the peak #'s aren't that different the larger headers seem to help add power throughout the entire curve.

I would go with a 2" header unless you just stumble across some quality 1 7/8 headers for a very good deal.
