ZL1 turns off A/C when getting hard on it?

Recently test drove a ZL1 and every time I got aggressive with it, it seemed to shut of the A/C for a brief period of time during the moment. I understand the reason behind it is to give you the full performance of the car in exchange to have the A/C shut off but is there an option button so that the ZL1 doesn’t do that? Or do these newer cars now a days seem to do that?

They all do that for the reasons you mentioned and also to protect the AC compressor, it is not optional.

All cars have been designed to disengaging the AC compressor clutch at wide open throttle (WOT) for at least the last 30 years.

I've never seen an option to turn it off.
